Hello everyone! Today's one shot is inspired by this prompt. Enjoy!

I don't know why Matthew decided to take me on a date to the aquarium. He knows I love animals! I would basically ignore him the whole time and admire all the beautiful animals of the water. Or at least that was what I expected going in.

When we arrived at the aquarium I was so excited. I practically dragged him through the gates to the first exhibit in the facility. I was holding his hand jumping up and down like a child on sugar. Once inside I released his hand to see all the building had to offer. In the middle there was a giant column of water filled with fish that live in coral reefs. Colorful schools of fish danced around in the water in a beautiful ballet showing off to all that would watch. I walked up to the tank in amazement as I was mesmerized as the fish continued to dance. Matthew somehow guided me away from the fish to look at more incredible animals. There was a petting zoo within this aquarium. I always felt bad for the creatures within these. They were poked at by people who didn't know how to touch them correctly. Matthew somehow convinced me to go to the petting zoo anyway. At the zoo there were different types of non-poisonous fish and plant life. Matthew walked up to the water and slowly touched the water. Slowly he submerged his hand so he wouldn't startle the wildlife. He let the water flow over his hand as he watched the fish swim by him. The pool was surprisingly deep so the fish could swim easily under Matthew's hand if they chose to do so. He kept his hand extended so he could take up as little room as possible and still have his hand in the water. I watched as a small smile spread over his face watching the fish swim. I didn't even process that I was staring until I watched him jump.

"Is something wrong Matthew?" I asked.

"Oh, no. This fish just startled me. That's all." Matthew replied turning to me and flashing me a brilliant smile.

I walked over to him and looked into the water. A small black fish was nuzzling Matthew's hand. He laughed quietly almost under his breath. He slowly curled his hand into a "c" shape. The fish seemed to notice and rested in his hand.

"Aw! That is so cute!" I cooed taking out my phone. I decided to record the moment.

"So today we are at the aquarium and it looks like Matthew made a new friend!" I moved the camera from focusing on Matthew and his beautiful smile to the small black fish in his hand. The fish must off known it was being recorded and swam out of Matthew's hand. It then swam in in a small circle around Matthew's hand only to one again rest in his hand. I cooed and put the video on Instagram.

"Your turn Steph." Matthew said slowly uncurling his fingers so he could let the fish go.

I slowly put my hand in the water just as Matthew did. The small black fish had swam away by this point probably disappointed that Matthew had left it. I felt something touch my hand. It made me jump a little but I quickly relaxed. Two little yellow fish were swimming around my hand. They seemed to be playing as they chased each other around and kept bumping into it. I heard Matthew's dolphin laugh as he watched the fish. I laughed to as the fish swam through my fingers.

Eventually we said good bye to our fish friends and continued to wonder through the aquarium. I was always drawn to the animals and watched them for way too long. Every time Matthew had to drag me away to see something new. He didn't seem to mind though. In fact, he had the biggest smile on his face as I adored each animal we encountered. At one point I decided to ask Matthew why he had that big smile across his face.

"Matthew what is with that smile of yours? Enjoying the sea life?" I asked him watching as a turtle swam by me. We were in a glass room where we could watch the sea life swim freely.

"I am just falling deeper in love with you every second. I love seeing the way your eyes light up when it sees an animal. I love how excited you are to see the world around you. I love you." Matthew said quietly grabbing my hand and lifting it to his lips. He gave it a kiss before bringing our hands down to our sides.

I smiled at him as he continued to smile at me.

"How romantic! Come on, we have so many other animals to go see!" I said pulling him with me as we continued on our date in the aquarium.

I am so lucky that everyday I get to be married to Matthew. He is the love of my life and makes everyday an adventure.
