      "Oh my god, Mayu!"
She slowly opened her eyes as she
looked V in the eyes. "Why are you so     frantic?" she was annoyed and had a headache, so V's shrill voice made it worse.

"Mayu, what happened last night? What....what did he do to you?" Mayu sat up right and observed her surroundings. She was back in the train cart she was in when she first got there.
"Mayu." V pulled her shoulders to face her stern expression.

"What happened?"

Mayu rubbed her eyes and sighed.
"He just asked me questions and flipped my body."

V's eyes widened.
"Uhhh, ha no not like that. It felt like a doctor's appointment, really."

V hugged Mayu tightly. "Oh sweety, if he does anything, please don't hesitate to tell us." Mayu hugged her back and closed her eyes in the embrace.
"Imagine yourself as my sister, okay?" Mayu slowly nodded and took a deep breath. She didn't want a sister, for the only sister she had was awful.

The door swung open as a familiar little red head entered. Mayu sighed. She didn't want to see him.
"Oh, good. She's awake. Now we can all get to practice. " He put his fists on his hips.
V frowned. "She needs some more rest. It's no coincidence she just passed out after master took her."

Fukase rolled his eyes. "Well if she doesn't practice, bad things are going to happen regardless. We can't shield her from the reality of the circus forever."
V sighed. "It's okay, V. I'll go." She sat up and took Fukase's hand, jumping out of the cart. She sighed. The sky was still gray. "Piko will be taking your measurements for your leotard, so we better get going. We have a lot to do today."

"Eh? I thought that V was going to take my measurements. "

"Well, it's been changed. He is the one who helps make the costumes after all."

"Ah, I see."

They stopped in front of the tent. Fukase turned to her. "Look, Mayu. Just be careful, alright?"
Mayu was shocked. He looked so serious and what he said was genuine. But why would he care about her so suddenly? She didn't think much of his comment.

"Okay. I will." she said monotonously. She turned from him and entered the arena. There was Piko, with measuring tape draped lazily around his shoulders and spectacles on. He looked like a fashion designer.

"Ah, Mayu. Just the girl I've been looking for! Go change into your practice leotard and come back. " She nodded and went to the dressing room. There she found Flower. "Ah, hey." she said. Mayu simply waved and went into the back to change.
She came back in and it all went pretty quickly. Waist, arms, bust, and done. "Ah, thank you love! This should be done quickly." he spoke very femininely. She simply nodded and headed out. She didn't bother changing out of her practice leotard.

Fukase was still out there waiting for her. She walked out without acknowledging him. He signed and grabbed her arm.
"Mayu, what happened?"
"What do you mean?" She felt completely emotionless. Her eyes were half open and she stared deeply into Fukase's, making him nervous.
"You've..changed since last night."
"You've been monitoring my behavior?" she said coldly.
He gave her a confused look. "What the heck is wrong with you?"

Mayu's eyes widened as she slapped his hands off of her. Suddenly all of her emotions came pooling in as she frowned and felt something sour bubble up in her throat.
"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me?!"

Fukase slowly backed away as she cornered him to the outer tent wall. Mayu laughed. "Why must you ask such ridiculous questions, dear?" she gave him a cheery grin.
Fukase was no longer afraid, just weirded-out. "Mayu, move." he pushed her away and sighed. " We've gotta take you to Al."

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

"Yeah, I think that's what happened." Al sighed and shook Mayu. "Mayu, you okay?" Mayu laughed and hung her head low. "Dear, oh dear, I feel it coming again." she began uttering nonsense. "I didn't know it could affect someone this long. She was very vulnerable."

"You mean to say she's never been around negativity before?"

Al shook his head. "No, but her brain isn't use to that much madness."

"What do you mean to say."

"What I mean to say is that when Mayu met Master, his madness affected her. She's only been used to being normal, nothing more."

Fukase furrowed his eyebrows. "Is she going to be okay? "

"She should be good in a while, but I recommend you look after her."

"Uggg, why meeee?" he whined.

"Everyone else is busy."

"Miku and Luka aren't!"

"Miku is watching after Luka."

Fukase groaned and shook Mayu to open her eyes again. "Hm? Oh there you are!" she began laughing as she sat up and began to play patty cake with Fukase. Al laughed. "Good luck!" and with that, Al was gone.

Fukase rubbed his face and groaned some more. "Dear, whatever is the matter?" Mayu asked, tugging on his sleeve. He sighed. "Get up. We're going to the lake."
"Lake? Why are we going there?"

So I can throw you in it.

"Let's just go." he said a bit sterner. Mayu cocked her head like a confused puppy. Fukase grumbled. "Get up, woman!!!!" He yelled. Mayu immediately bursted into tears, being as loud as she could be. "Hey, shhhh.

I'll get in trouble!" he said hugging her a little. She stopped completely and hugged him tight. She began giggling like a little girl as she hopped onto Fukase's back and hit his sides with her feet. "Let us go! Onwards!" she yelled, yanking his hair. He groaned and exited the cart. "You're lucky you're not in your right mind." he grumbled, heading toward the lake.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

"Ah, you've got yourself a little friend there!" Luka chuckled. "Whatever. I'm Babysitting". He shook Mayu off of him and sat with Miku and Luka near the Lake. "Poor thing." Miku said, wrapping her arms around Mayu. "Oh my, dear. You're very warm. Don't get near the fire." Mayu said, embracing Miku deeply as she wrapped her arms around her waist and slumped into her body.
"She really likes you. Maybe you should watch after her." Miku giggled.
"Sorry. I'm helping Luka today." Fukase groaned and laid flat on the ground. Mayu gasped. "Oh no, he's dying!" she rushed over to him and began pushing his chest.

"I. Swear. To. God. If. You. Don't. Get. Off. Me-" he spoke within each heave. Miku and Luka only laughed. "My, my. She really is mad.~"

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

That night, Fukase finally convinced Miku to look after Mayu as he went to sleep. He never went to sleep this early, so the train cart was completely barren. He laid down and stretched out, finally being alone.

"Dear, you mustn't sleep like this. You're far too cold. " he heard a familiar voice.
Uggg! What did she want now?! He pretended to be asleep and ignored her.

"Oh dear. I'm too late. You've died." she slowly approached Fukase's body crying as she laid down beside him. "Dear, I'm sorry." she whispered, wrapping herself onto him.

He did admit, her warmth felt nice on that cold night, but she was really beginning to bug him. She began to sob quietly into his shoulder.

He sighed. The guilt would follow him if he simply did nothing. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her and tried to calm her down. "I'm alive, don't sob.....dear." Mayu gasped and smiled through her tears.

"Oh, dear. My dear. It's okay to be dead."

Fukase's eyes widened as he squeezed her tighter. Was it only a coincidence she said this?

.....Or did she know??
