The humongous, red and white tent stood high and mighty. People of all ages were already lined up to come see the show. It was night, about 9 o'clock, but that still didn't stop the busy people of the area from coming.
Mayu sat backstage, complete in her costume and makeup and ready to go. They had about twenty minutes before the show would actually begin, but her nerves got worse with every tick of the clock.
Everyone else was jumping with excitement, trying to contain themselves. Even though they were tortured souls, performing still made their hearts warm. This made Mayu feel a bit better, but still her legs were shaking.
"I can tell you're nervous." she jolted as a hand held her shoulder. She looked up, and directly met Fukase's eyes. She gulped. She'd never seen him smile so genuinely. She hated to admit his smile warmed her heart. For a moment, she'd forgotten her anxieties.
"You shouldn't be. We'll all be there for you." he said, and left.
She sighed. She felt frozen in that moment. What was that feeling? She was interrupted by someone passing by her. His cologne was strong. He wore a purple, hooded cloak. This wasn't master, who was this?
"Hey, you can't be back here." she began to follow the man. His long, violet hair hung loosly from his hood. She froze: It was the same man from the other night. The guy who was crazy enough to jump out of the window.
He turned and disappeared into the very back; somewhere Mayu hadn't been.
She heard a gasp, and lots of squealing. Who was that? She peared around the corner to see the man holding Luka in a strong embrace.
"It's so good to see you, I'm so happy you've been well." he let go of her, and kneeled to hug her stomach.
"I promise as soon as our son is born, you'll be right out of here."
Mayu gasped. Luka's husband snuck in to see her. Curiosity got the best of her, and she came into the room.
The both turned to her and smiled.
"Mayu, I'd like you to meet my husband. Gakupo, this is the girl I wrote to you about."He took a bow. "I'm excited to see you perform tonight, Ms. Mayu. Luka speaks very highly of you." He put his arm around her.
Mayu didn't respond, she only studied the two. Gakupo was rather handsome, and looked completely normal. What was someone like him doing in a place like this? He looked so happy with Luka. She smiled. It was good to know there were still people out there who didn't judge by appearance."It's a pleasure to meet you. I hope you enjoy the show."
Mayu said simply. She left the two alone to reunite. She sat back in her little corner and sighed."Places, everyone, places! We start in 5 minutes! Get up!" V came into the tent, clapping and yelling. Her heart sank and she hurried behind everyone else to head towards the main tent.
This was it. This is the moment she'd been waiting for. She was about to perform.
She was absolutely terrified, but had never been this excited in her life.
