Courtney's POV
I woke up, grabbed my crutches and went downstairs to the kitchen.
"How was your sleep?" Riker asked as I sat at the island.
He hadn't even looked at me. He must of heard my crutches.
"It was good," I said tiredly.
"That's good. You want some french toast?"
"Sure."
Riker made me some french toast and set it down in front of me. I put syrup on top and started eating it.
"Mmm. This is good!" I commented in between bites.
"Well I'm glad that you like it," Riker replied smiling.
"Where's everyone else?" I asked.
"They are probably still sleeping. It's still pretty early. It's 7:00 ish," Riker said looking at the clock on the wall.
I nodded my head in reply. Just then Ross came down the stairs.
"Hey Ross, I'm supposed to go to the hospital around noon to get this thing off. Could you drive me there?" I asked once he sat down beside me.
"Yeah, sure," he replied yawning.
"Why are you up so early?" I asked him.
"I don't even know," he said while rubbing his eyes.
He then ran his fingers through his hair and made it messier than before. I laughed at him, he gave me a questioning look. I fixed his hair and then Riker set some french toast in front of Ross.
"I smell food," Ratliff said stumbling into the kitchen.
"Good thing I made extra," Riker muttered setting some in front of Ratliff.
I laughed a bit.
We spent the rest of the morning talking about the most random things. By 11:00 I was ready to go to the hospital.
"Ross, can we go now?" I asked while motioning to my leg.
"Yeah. We'll be back in a bit," Ross said the last part to the guys.
We hopped in his car and he started driving to the hospital. We took the elevator up to the floor that my doctor was on.
"Courtney, Dr.Dust will see you now," the lady at the front desk said to me.
Ross and I walked into the room. I sat on the chair and Ross stood beside me, by my crutches that I hopefully wouldn't need anymore.
"Ok Courtney, this might feel a little weird," My doctor said as he walked in.
He cut off my cast and it tickled.
"Your leg will still be weak so I want you to go easy on it," Dr.Dust said to me.
I nodded. When we were done we walked down to the main level.
"Ross, my leg is sore," I said as we were walking into the parking lot.
"Hop on my back," he offered, bending over.
I hopped on and he gave me a piggy back ride to the car. He set me down and I got into the car. He started driving home and he turned on the radio. We listened for a bit, but then when a new song that I hadn't heard came on he turned it off. I brushed it off thinking that he didn't like the song.
Ross' POV
We were driving home when all of a sudden Forget About You came on the radio. I turned it off quickly. I don't want Court knowing about R5 quite yet. I want to make it a bit more of a surprise. Make it special when she finds out.
"I have to get some groceries. Do you want to come with me or do you want to be dropped off?" I said as we were getting closer to home.
"If you could drop me off that would be good. I'm getting kind of tired."
"Sure."
I dropped her off at home and went to the grocery store. I picked up what my mom had wanted and after signing a few autographs for some fans I went home.
"Mom!" I yelled as I walked in.
"Yes?" she said coming to the door.
"I got your groceries," I said setting them on the table.
Courtney's POV
Once Ross dropped me off I went to my room and sat on the chair in the corner and read a little bit.
"Mom!" I heard Ross yell.
He must of just gotten home.
"Yes?" Stormie replied.
"I got your groceries," Ross said.
"How much trouble was it?" I heard Stormie ask.
"I only had to sign a few autographs so it wasn't to bad."
Wait, What? Why was Ross signing autographs?
"I'm going to go check on Court," I heard Ross say.
I then realized that I had walked to the door to listen in on their conversation. I quickly went back to the chair and pulled my book out again. I tried to make it look like I had been there the whole time.
"Knock knock," Ross said while gently knocking on the door.
"Come in," I replied lowering my book.
"Still tired?" Ross asked smiling a bit.
"A little, but not as much," I said.
He nodded and sat down on my bed.
"I really hope that you know that you are a part of the family now. I want you to know that we all love you and all care about you. We don't want anything bad to happen to you," Ross said with the most serious look on his face.
"Thanks," I said, a single tear rolling down my cheek.
Ross embraced me in a hug. He glanced over to my dresser and looked at all the stuff I had places on it.
"What's this?" he asked getting up and holding up my little blue castle.
"My dad gave that to me when I was six. It has a ring in it. It's to small now, otherwise I would wear it all the time," I said smiling at the memories.
He opened it and examined the ring inside it.
"It's beautiful," he said.
I just nodded my head.
"If you don't mind me asking, where is your dad right now?" he asked.
Tears brimmed my eyes.
"He's in heaven. He gave that to me right before he went off on a motorcycle trip with some friends of his. I was thirteen. As they were riding he got in an accident and didn't make it. He always called me his little princess, so that's my castle," I had tears running down my face, "My problems in school started a bit after that. My mom had also started drinking, a lot. She was almost always at the bar. She couldn't deal with dad being gone. I had to grow up fast."
Ross came over to me and took my hands in his. He pulled me to my feet and wrapped his arms around me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried into his shirt. He rubbed my back smoothly and it helped calm me down. He kissed the top of my head.
"It'll be ok, princess," he whispered in my ear.
I hugged him a bit tighter.
