Courtney's POV

I woke up to someone nudging me. I opened my eyes, turned over and saw Beauty standing there. She was grasping a teddy bear.

"What's wrong?" I asked her while I sat up.

"I had a bad dream and Delly won't wake up."

"Come here," I said making room for her on my bed.

She grabbed her blanket and sat down beside me on the bed.

"You know what I do when I have a bad dream?" I asked her.

"What?"

"I think really hard about something I like. When I was little, I would think about eating candy, riding horses with my dad, or swimming. What's something you like?"

"I like my family," she said.

"Ok, then think about your family," I suggested.

"I'm still scared though," she said sniffing.

An idea popped in my head.

"Come with me," I said holding out my hand.

She grabbed my hand and we walked to the boys room. I opened the door and went over to where Ross was sleeping. I gently shook him awake and he opened his eyes.

"What's up?" he asked in his morning voice.

"Come on."

He stood up in his boxers and quickly pit on a pair of sweats and a muscle shirt. He followed Beauty and I downstairs to the glowing embers in the fireplace. Ross sat on the couch and I sat beside him. Beauty sat down on Ross's lap.

"I had a bad dream," Beauty said to Ross.

"And now you can't go back to sleep?" he asked.

"No, I'm too scared it's going to happen again."

"There's nothing to be scared of now, Courtney and I will protect you."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Ross kissed her on the forehead and me on the cheek. We all got comfortable on the couch and I covered us with a blanket. Ross was on his back, I was on my side beside him and Beauty was on Ross's stomach. Ross and one arm covering Beauty and one around me.

"Goodnight guys," Beauty said through a yawn.

"Goodnight," Ross and I said in unison.

-

I heard a click and hushed voices.

I snuggled closer into Ross's side not wanting to get up.

"Look at how adorable that is," someone said.

I opened my eyes to reveal a whole bunch of the relatives surrounding us. I softly nudged Ross beside me.

"Hmm?" he asked turning his head to me.

I leaned closer to his ear, "We've got an audience."

Beauty yawned and stretched her arms out.

"No bad dreams?" I asked.

"No bad dreams," she replied.

She threw the blanket off us and pulled us to our feet.

"I'm hungry now, my protecters need to help me get food."

We laughed and followed her to the dinner table. There were waffles set on the table for us.

"Everyone else already ate, but you guys looked tired so we left you to sleep," Stormie said.
