Floating Docks

Courtney's POV

"There's somewhere that we have to go!" I exclaimed.

"Where?" Ryland asked.

"There's this ranch that my dad used to always take me to. We need to go!"

We got to the ranch and as soon as the vehicle stopped and ran out and up to the front door.

"Courtney!" Carla exclaimed while gripping me in a hug.

"Rob! Come see who's here!" she yelled into the house.

Rob came to the door and looked at me.

"Zip! What brings you here?" he asked.

"Well, me and my friends are in the area and they have never ridden so I was hopping we could go out for a bit."

They all introduced themselves to Rob and Carla.

"I don't see why not. Seven horses coming up!" He said counting all of us.

"You guys can go down to the barn already, we will be there in a bit." Carla said and they scurried back into the house.

We walked to the barn and I slid the door open. I went to the side.

"I'm sure that you guys can all find a size that fits you." I said motioning to all the boots.

They all found a pair and we went further in. We went to the horses stalls.

"Hey Belle." I said going up to the old horse that I used to always ride.

Beside her was Coy.

"Dad used to ride this one." I said petting him.

"Okay everyone. Let's get started. Riker on Sprout, Ratliff on Skittles, Rydel on Charlie, Rocky on Kiwi, Ross on Angle, Ryland on Lou and Zip on Zip." He said while pointing to all the assigned horses.

"Wait, who's Zip?" I asked.

"Belle had a foul, and I decided to name him after you. I hope you don't mind." Rob said walking over to Zip with me.

"Not at all." I said embracing him.

After the ride we all went back to the house for food.

"That was fun, but now I'm sore." Rocky said.

All the others nodded in agreement. I giggled a bit.

"I was wondering why he was calling you Zip, but it all makes sense now. You were just darting around everywhere!" Ross said.

"One time I put her on an Arabian. That was a mistake. Nobody could catch up to her." Carla said laughing.

"Ok Rob's famous homemade burgers! Dig in!" Rob said putting all the food on the table.

We all took a burger.

"Wow. This is the best burger that I've ever had!" Ratliff exclaimed.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

After we all finished eating I went up and talked to Carla.

I went onto the tour bus and put on my bathing suit and grabbed a towel. I went down to the lake and set down my towel. I hopped into the water and started swimming.

Ross' POV

Carla took us out to the barn and handed us each a bottle of milk.

"What's this for?" Ryland asked.

"Just follow me." Carla said while going deeper into the barn.

We kept walking till we turned a corner and there were a bunch of calves.

"How big is this barn?" Rocky asked looking around.

"Here. Stick out two fingers." Carla said grabbing my arm.

I did as she said and she led me over to a calf. The calf started sucking on my fingers.

"This feels so weird." I said.

I took my fingers back and turned the bottle toward the calf and it started sucking again.

"Hey, where did Courtney go?" I asked Carla.

"Oh she needed to do something." Carla said and went back to helping Rydel.

After we were done feeding calves we went outside to a pen.

"How many animals do you have here?" Ell asked.

I looked around and saw some donkeys and sheep.

"Just horses, cows, donkeys, sheep, dogs and cats." Carla said.

"Just?" I heard Ryland mutter.

Riker jabbed him with his elbow.

I looked to my left and saw a lake. Then I saw Court sitting on a dock on the water.

I quickly snuck away and ran down to the beach. I threw my shirt by a towel that I assumed was Court's and jumped in the water.

I swam out to the dock and pulled myself up. Court was sitting on the edge looking out to the lake. I sat down beside her.

"Hey." I said.

She wrapped her fingers around mine and put her head on my shoulder without a response.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Me and my dad used to always come out here. I guess I just wish that he was here."

She took her hand back and played with her ring. I put my arm around her and slid closer to her.

"You know, this been a really good day. I'm glad you brought us all here."

I kissed her and after a bit she kissed back.

She nestled her head on my chest as we laid down on the deck.

After a bit I looked at the sky.

"It's getting dark. We should go back in." I said sitting up.

"Race you!" She said standing up.

We both dove in the water.

"I totally beat you!" she said as we walked back to the bus.

"No that was a tie."

"You're just mad that you got beat by a girl."

Court stuck out her tongue and ran to the bus where Rob, Carla and the others were standing. We all hugged them and got in the bus. Court and I changed and then joined the others who were playing apples to apples.
