Courtney's POV

"Welcome to Colorado," Ross said while we walked out of the airport, his arm draped over my shoulders.

It was cold and snowing so I was wearing a jacket, toque and some gloves.

The eight of us traveled in two separate taxi cabs to the family cabin that we were going to be staying at. We had all our luggage and presents loaded in the trunks.

-

When we arrived, Rydel led me straight to the room we would be sharing.

"It looks so pretty outside," I sighed looking out the window.

"Yeah, I love it when the trees get frosted like that," she replied coming beside me.

"Come get your bags!" Rocky yelled from the door.

We got our bags and took them to our room.

"I want you to meet the cousins now! Come on, you're going to love them!" Rydel said.

-

"So tomorrow is Christmas. You excited?" Ross asked as we placed all the wrapped presents under the tree.

"Yeah, I am. It's the first Christmas in a while I'll be spending with people that actually care about me."

I nuzzled into his side in front of the fireplace and he wrapped his arm around me. I looked up at him and he looked down at me. We both leaned in and our lips connected. I felt butterflies, just like the times before. We sat there watching the wood burn and crackle in the fire.

-

I woke up in my bed. I must have fallen asleep and Ross probably brought me here. I looked at the time to see that it was 5:23. I didn't feel the slightest bit tired. Rydel was still sleeping on the other bed so I just pulled out my phone. I went onto Instagram and went through my feed until I saw a picture of Ross and I by the fireplace, kissing.

Cant believe how cute these two are ❤

Delly had posted it. I sighed and got a text from Ross.

Come downstairs. And put on long socks

I silently changed from my pajamas and tiptoed down the stairs, being sure not to wake anybody. I saw Ross standing at the door with a bag at his feet.

"Did you know I was up?" I asked.

"I had a feeling you were," he smirked.

"What's in the bag?" I asked moving closer.

"A surprise. Come with me."

I put on my coat, mitts, scarf and toque. I slipped on my boots and followed him out. He had the bag slung over his shoulder and we walked down the front steps hand in hand.

"Merry Christmas by the way," he said kissing my cheek.

"You too," I replied, nestling closer to him.

It was dark outside, but the sun was starting to rise. We kept walking until we reached a frozen pond. There was a bench beside and we sat down.

"What are we doing?"

"Skating," he stated, pulling two pairs of skates out of the bag.

"Ross, I've never gone skating before," I mumbled.

"Well, there's no time like the present," he said bending over to help me with my skates.

He tied them and then tied his.
