Two weeks had passed since Peter's argument with his aunt. To his luck his aunt let him keep going to Tony's, though it was with an strict curfew and only on Saturdays. From 3pm to 8pm. Yeah, it kinda sucked, but at least it was something; of course it was nothing 5 weekly hours when before he had been there more than three days a week, but it still was something.
"Hey there!" Tony greeted Peter happily. To be honest, the billionaire was missing the kid as he was used to have him all the weekend and throughout the weekdays. But he was glad that May had allowed him to keep visiting.
"Hey, Tony" Peter wasn't that glad himself, not that it had to do something with Tony, in fact, being with the billionaire brought up his spirits a little.
"What's up, kid?" he asked sensing Peter's mood.
"I'm moving" Peter felt tired and like he had already accepted it. Not angry, neither sad. It was the voice of someone that knew he couldn't change it and had already passed the instance of anger.
"What? Where?" Tony was confused and a little scared. Were they taking Peter away from him? Not that moving to other city, or continent for that matter, would stop Tony from getting to his kid. But what about Peter? He knew that taking him away from his school and friends would not be beneficial to a kid his age.
"Yeah, not far but still" he said and then added in an attempt at being optimistic "But at least they decided to do it when I was in my holidays, right? It would be a mess if I had school"
So... that was it, he was moving not only with his aunt. God, Tony was sure the relationship of May and his boyfriend was being a bit of a rush, not that he has a right in the matter.
"They" it was not a question, but Tony arched his eyebrow as if it was.
Peter sighed "Yep, they, Lucas and May. Isn't that just great?"
"You know, I used to be the only one to use sarcasm"
"I don't know from who I learned it" Peter smirked. It was his usual teasing.
"Yeah, yeah. But seriously, you're moving with May and Lucas?"
"It looks like it"
"So... how did this happen? Isn't it a little too much?" Peter sensed that Tony was being cautious, he always was when it came to his aunt and the lawyer.
"We were having dinner yesterday when they dropped the bomb. Apparently we're moving to Lucas' house, in the north of the city, not so far from school but further anyways. At least I'd be closer to the tower" Peter was trying once again to be positive, it was hard though.
Yesterday he listed all the thing that would change, all the cons, because he was just too angry to think positive.
He would need more time to get to school, he would need to get used to have Lucas near 24/7, not that it would make a difference, but still; he would need to check the neighborhood, do what he did when he first became Spiderman, search for cameras that could catch him changing, check for neighbors bored enough to be watching through the window, check for alleys that he could change where people weren't used to go. It was a tedious task.
"And I'm guessing you weren't happy, were you?" Tony asked, knowing the answer already.
"No, I stormed into my room, changed and just went out patrolling all night"
"That seems to be your way of dealing with every problem" Tony pointed out.
"Well, I like talking to Karen, and the feeling that I'm doing something, and the adrenaline when I jump from a building"
"Wait- you jump from buildings?!"
Peter just laughed it off, though Tony didn't find it funny at all. Gosh, this kid was going to make him gray.
Tony shook his head and put an arm around his kid, guiding him out of the lab and into the common room.
"What are we doing?" Peter said confused, he was told that they were going to work in some trackers or something.
"We're watching a movie, you could use the distraction and we haven't done that since like three weeks ago" Tony was smiling as he sat them down in the couch.
"Really?" he was really excited, he loved doing that with Tony, all those little moments they shared, doing Peter's homework, eating leftovers, or just talking, it felt so domestic, and good, and just right.
"Of course! Now quite that look, it makes you look like a puppy" his mentor wasn't really annoyed by it, actually he thought it was a little adorable, but he wasn't admitting that anytime soon "What're we watching?"
Peter blushed at how his mentor had called him but answered anyway.
"Your turn, I always choose. It's only fair if you choose at least this one"
"I don't really know much movies, we already saw the ones I know"
"What was your favorite childhood movie then?" Peter was actually curious.
"I don't know... I didn't watched many" he didn't remember any movie he watched in his childhood. He wasn't sure if he even watched movies, his childhood was not normal, but he didn't have the heart to tell that to the kid.
"What- seriously? Gosh, how could you?!" Peter pointed an accusing finger at him, being overdramatic.
"Okay, sorry, drama queen" Tony rolled his eyes "Let's watch yours"
"Yay!"
"If you really wanted to choose why did you let me?" he laughed and Peter shrugged.
"Let's watch... have you seen Disney movies?"
"No, not really. Just the ones you showed me" Peter looked at him like he had just kicked his puppy.
"Deception, disgrace" Peter sang out, and then laughed at his mentor's confused face "I'll show you that movie later. Now we can watch Toy Story!"
"Sounds like some old documentary about toys"
"It's not, Tony!" he hit him lightly in the arm "It's about toys that are alive"
"Because that makes so much sense" Tony's mouth quirked a little at the ends as Peter was telling FRIDAY to play the movie.
The movie started and soon they were in a comfortable silence, only disturbed by their own munch of food.
Sometimes through the second movie Peter fell asleep and Tony let him. The kid was probably almost all night patrolling yesterday and it wasn't the first time that his kid fell asleep on the couch.
Tony laughed a little at the memory.
He was so confused and didn't know what to do then, he started to get anxious and end up waking the kid up. How? Don't ask him. He just started to poke the kid around and when that didn't work he may or may have not told FRIDAY to wake Peter up for him as he didn't know how. Bad idea, FRIDAY started to switch off and on the lights and to play some siren. He swore to never tell FRIDAY that again and to learn how to wake the kid up.
When it was 7.45pm he had to wake Peter as his aunt would kill both of them if he got there past curfew.
"Hey, hey, Underoos, wake up" he asked softly, as he knew Peter would hear him because of his powers and started to shake him lightly by the shoulder "Wake up or your aunt will kill us, you don't want that, right? Because I do not"
When he saw Peter moving a little he felt pride at how he had managed to wake the kid compared at the first time he tried.
He kept talking and no longer after the kid was awake, with his backpack on and saying goodbye to Tony. His mentor watched him go with a fond smile in his lips.
Peter thought of his time with Tony and smiled. It felt so natural and good to be with him, like how it felt with Aunt May.
He realized that if moving meant that he would be closer to Tony then maybe it was worth it try to stand Lucas.
