Tony was in a bad mood. He couldn't help it, he just woke up with this strange feeling, like something was about to happen today, and that put him in a bad, irritable mood. It wasn't anything personal, he just was frustrated. He knew that something was about to happen today, something not good, but he didn't know what, and that stressed him, he usually knew almost everything.

Tony didn't answered when Bruce wished him good day in the morning. His friend knew him well enough to not be offended by it, instead he made his coffee and sat next to him, letting a chair of distance between them and started his breakfast in silence.

The Avengers did the same. They had an unspoken rule about moods. If Tony, Clint, Thor or Natasha were in a bad mood, they had to just let them be 'til night, when they'd sleep it off, the next morning they would be as radiant as ever. With Tony it also meant let him lock himself in his lab.

And that was what he did.

"Hey, guys!" Peter waved to the Avengers that were still eating breakfast at 10.30 am, when he woke up.

His greeting was responded by a chorus of 'Hello's and a plate of food put in front of him by Steve, who smiled and told him to eat.

Peter was talking animatedly when something occurred to him. His dad wasn't there, usually he would wait for him, although he already ate his breakfast.

"Hey, where's Tony?" he asked, mouth full of bread.

"Oh, he's in his lab. He was in a bad mood when he got up" Natasha explained to him, shrugging, and the rest just nodded.

"Okay... I'll try to make him feel better" Peter exclaimed. Tony always made him feel better when he was sad, or angry, or scared; he'd be a shit of a son if he didn't do the same for him.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Pete..." Bruce said, cautious as he didn't want to bring Peter down and have two Starks in a bad mood in the same building.

"Why?"

"He's a hell of irritant when he's in a bad mood, but also is very irritable. We have a kind of unspoken rule going around of letting him be" Steve answered instead of Bruce, being much more careless than the scientist "Though now that I say it, it might just be a rule"

"I'll try and cheer him up" Peter got up from the table "Maybe he just needs someone to do so"

"Just don't be angry if he's annoying" said Natasha, and then added with a little smirk "More than normal"

Peter thought the Avengers were exaggerating, that it wasn't that bad. But he soon realized that he was wrong.

"Hey, dad!" the kid called out when he entered the lab, cheerfully.

Tony sighed. It wasn't Peter's fault he was in a bad mood, it wasn't his fault, don't let it off on him, he thought. The mechanic knew that it was mostly likely that the Avengers has told Peter about his mood, and that Peter just wanted to help, but Tony was incredibly irritable and inpatient right now, he didn't want to do something that he would regret.

"Hey, kiddo. What're you doing?" he asked, without looking up.

"Nothing. But they said that you weren't feeling  so good today, so I thought that maybe I could help" Peter smiled, sitting besides his dad.

"It's really sweet, and all that sentimental things, but I really want to be alone right now" he explained, trying to not let the kid down. He had a headache, and the feeling that something bad was about to happen didn't wear off, either.
