In all movies and books Peter's ever seen the protagonist always woke up confused, wondering where he was, why he was there and how he got there. It was not like that for Peter.
When he woke up he knew exactly where he was and why. He was in the Avengers Tower, in his own room, because his aunt kicked him out after finding out he was Spiderman.
He sighed, looking at the all so familiar roof. He refused to believe his aunt was capable of doing something like that, after all they've been through. He knew it couldn't be for long, right? May would eventually call him, telling him that she was sorry and that he could go back to their house. It was all said out of anger.
He was confused, as a part of him was whispering that it was not true, that his aunt would call, that all of it was a big truth; he locked that part in an empty room in the back of his mind.
And then, there was the thing. Would he go back if she called? He knew he couldn't live with Tony forever, but for now Peter just let himself drown in the hope that it could be a reality. Not that he didn't loved his aunt, but... after all she said to him? Was he capable of forgiving her? It really was something awful what's he said.
"Hey, Fri, would you tell me the time, please?" he asked to the ceiling.
"The current time is 10.30 am, Peter. Boss also got breakfast in the kitchen"
"Thanks"
He dressed in one of the improvised outfits he made with the little clothes he could pack in his little backpack and went to the kitchen of the tower. It still sometimes amazed him how big it was.
"Hey, Underoos! How'd you sleep?" Tony steered him, a big smile on his face (that looked a little bit overdramatic) and a plate of eggs in the table.
"Good, thanks for breakfast by the way, FRIDAY told me you made it"
"It's nothing" he waved a hand in dismissal "I can't have you starving, can I?"
Peter smiled and sat at one of the chairs, in front of Tony. The table was ridiculous large, but Peter thought it was for when all the Avengers lived in it.
"Mhmm. Tony?" he called out.
"Yes, Pete?"
"Where are the Avengers?" he asked the question that always occurred to him when he was there. He didn't want to seem disrespectful or being back bad memories.
"They're negotiating the new accords, that everyone will Okay with, with the UN" he paused and looked at him "It's almost over now, they're just waiting the approval and to sign them"
"Shouldn't you be with them?"
"Since when I do what I should and not what I want? I've been a little busy here so O thought it would be more productive if I stay. They'll send me the accords and then I'll sign them" he explained.
Peter nodded and went back to his food. Tony watching him closely.
"How are you?" his mentor suddenly asked.
"Good, I think. I don't really know" Peter shrugged a little and then added "I'm sorry to bother you. I'm sure she will let me go back in a few days, then I'll stop bothering you"
Tony sighed. Being honest? He was not that sure if May would let him go back, she seemed pretty convinced yesterday. But he knew Peter was in the phase of refusal and that he'll eventually understand that this may be a little more serious than he was thinking, he hoped.
