Derek's POV- Special Chapter

  TUESDAY

He stood silently while trying to busy his hands with breakfast. He had taken the day off to ensure Jessie got settled in and didn't need a ride somewhere. He made Pancakes, simple, but found himself distracted. They were all coming out a bit too blackened.

He was thinking of her dark blue eyes, her soft pink lips, and the beautiful dimples when she smiled which she didn't do often enough. That adorable white dress gave her an air of innocence that made his heart race.

Earlier she slipped back out of her room to ask about a towel. The sounds of the shower made his mind wander to naughty thoughts it was way too early to have. She was naked a few doors down. Water pounded on her back, her shoulders... ugg.

He hadn't had a serious relationship in years as he was busy setting up his own business and finishing up his apprenticeship for Underwater Welding. It was a tough job, but he loved being in the water and it paid well. He wondered if Jessie liked the water. Maybe he could take her scuba diving? He wouldn't mind seeing her in a suit, all wet...

No. Bad thoughts. Smoke, unfortunately, interrupted his nonsensical daydreams!

"Shit!" He tried waving the smoke away which he knew he was only making worse. He knew better, but his mind equaled mush right now.

The alarm blared ensuring everyone in this section was awake.

"Fuck!" He uttered, tossing the burnt pancake in the sink.

A dripping wet wide-eyed Jessie wrapped in a grey towel with white suds making puddles on the tops of her breasts. "Oh fuck." He uttered softly and turned around stiffly. "Sorry I burnt the pancakes." He said quickly barely making it over the blaring alarm.

His cell phone rang.

"What?" She yelled.

He felt her fingers on the crook of his arm to turn him to face her.

"I burnt breakfast!" He yelled keeping his face toward the ceiling. Don't look at the water streaming down her neck and in between her breasts.

"Oh! Good. Can you take the batteries out or something?" She yelled back.

He nodded and climbed on the counter to get the battery out.

He opened a window while answering his cell. It was the maintenance guy. He explained the smoke alarm and went back to trying to salvage breakfast.

'Maybe a nice fruit salad was safer today,' he wondered as he heard the shower turn back on.
