Two weeks passed since her last art session with the class. Jessie happy for the experience, but also knew that she was hanging up her modeling robes for good.  She spent a lot of time learning about the T' Project to prepare for the auction.  She connected with many of the volunteers who shared similar stories to hers. Whether it be their sexuality, identity, self-doubt, body dysmorphia, or stories of rape and molestation, there were so many other people who could empathize with her experience. She actually signed up to go back to school starting in the fall to learn more about counseling so that she could help others who were going through similar things.  She also started a blog. It's about being a strong transgender woman, but how even she has insecuirties especially when it comes to her body.

Today, however, was a big night. Fundraiser.

The college brought together several departments for Pride month all around the theme of PRIDE and FABOULOUSNESS. Chefs created special dishes and appetizers. Fashion Design created new looks based on the themes. Web design and Graphic Art students helped create the web pages and printables to promote it. Advertising and Social Media had been promoting it all month. The Drama department created a small sketch that was sent to the local news about a trans girl dealing with high school. They didn't realize how close to the truth they stumbled upon, but Jessie didn't mind. There was so much positivity, even with her nervousness, she found herself excited.

Mel's outfit was a bejeweled corset bodice and a cage skirt in the pride colors. It was Avant Garde and Mel was living for it. At the moment, the cosmology department was going to town on Mel's face and hair. Jessie laughed as she was confronted by her own students who were explaining that even the mayor will be here.

Jessie's outfit was a classic A-Line ball grown, but it was a weird stiff material. She didn't really get it but smiled as the designer came by to check the fitting. She also noticed the small mousey IT person with soft features talking with the designer.  Jessie was more than a little glad it wasn't Earl.

Probably making sure the technical aspects of the fashion show went well. Right?

It all came to ahead at 7 pm. Jessie was shuffled to the end of the line of gorgeous models. Mel was right in front of her. Derek waited in the wing on the other side looking just as nervous. Jake stood next to Derek. Both looking dapper in their black suits and rainbow ties. Beck was in the crowd somewhere as was all the art students.

Jessie took a deep breath as she went through the plan for the show. They would walk one by one down the T shaped catwalk. Each model held a smaller framed sketch. Other pieces were hanging from chains from the ceiling lining the sides of the catwalk from above. Lights shone on each one with a price being projected onto it. The live current bid for the online auction.

The last piece was to be revealed after Jessie walked out. She was last in line. She would attempt to not stumble over her own feet and somehow make it to the end of the stage to where the microphone was. She memorized what she needed to say to introduce the non-profit they were raising funds for. She was incredibly nervous, but Derek would walk out to make the dramatic reveal. Everyone would cheer.  Then they could mingle with the crowd enjoying the food, the music, and the art. So that was the plan.

Obviously, Jake left out some details.

The music was RuPaul's Latest electronic pop hit mixed with a classic of hers. It took Jessie back to her high school days, but with enough of a surprise that she enjoyed the new mix. She watched with both nervousness and glee as she the crowd cheered for each model and sketch. The bids being projected increased first by $50, then $100, then $1000s. Jessie's heart was pounding as she watched the crowd respond sometimes yelling "You Betta WERK!"
