"So, what, we just forget about Lorna because she's behind bars?" Marcos continues to rant to John, Cait, and I, along with a few other mutants about getting Lorna out of jail.

"You know that's not what I'm saying." John reiterates.

"God knows what she's going through in there."Marcos says.

"You're talking about breaking into a jail. 20 foot walls. With guards. With guns." John attempts to get some clarification.

"We have a way past all of it." Marcos states. "Clarice. You saw what she can do."

"I saw her tearing through the fabric of space. She almost destroyed half the building. She almost died." John argues.

"She's fine now." Marcos adds.

"In your expert medical opinion." Cait nods sarcastically.

"Yeah, well, she's better than she was." Marcos clarifies.

"Even if she is, she's nowhere near ready to take on what you're proposing." John shrugs.

"Then train her. Just like you trained most of the people in this room. You train her." Marcos continues.

"John, Clarice did get herself out of jail. I mean, maybe she can do this." I shrug.

"So you're on his side?" His eyes meet mine, and I immediately feel guilty.

"No. I'm not on anyone's side." I stand next to Marcos. "But Lorna's my best friend."

A few moments of silence pass, and every one looks to John for an answer. "All right."

"W-Wait." Cait walks over to John. "We still live in a country of laws. Have we tried calling a lawyer? Some members of Congress are sympathetic to mutants."

"You're really overestimating-"

"Why not try? We can assault a building, but we can't talk to a person?" She asks.

"You said you wanted to fight." Marcos points out.

"I do. But there are ways to fight that don't involve battles. I have connections. I can reach out." Cait answers.

"We can't have contact with the outside world while you're staying here. Sentinel services will be looking for you. We can't risk the exposure." I shake my head.

"Even if it could help?"

"Much better odds they turn on us. I'm sorry, Cait. It's too dangerous."

"You really think this is a bad idea?" I ask John, as he and I head to talk to Clarice.

"It's not the best, but if it's what you and Marcos want then I guess I'll go along with it." He answers.

"Look, you know I'm all for doing what you want to do. You sure as hell make smarter decisions than I do." I laugh slightly. "So if you think there's a better way, then I'm all for it"
