"We know that Lorna is being held in a cell at the sentinel services regional headquarters." John speaks to the crowd gathered in the second level of our building. "We believe that Reed Strucker is there with her. They're being moved soon to an ultra-secure facility. And we don't know much about it, except that the people who go don't come back. That's why we've got to move now. And I'm not going to sugar coat this. We're talking about attacking the sentinel services."
Quiet chatter can be heard from the group, as people give their opinions, concerns, and complaints on the situation to one another. Out of Lorna, John, and I, John usually does all the talking. He's a much better negotiator than I could ever be. He's willing to make compromises, while I'm more of a 'What I say goes' type of girl. I shift in my seat beside Marcos, before looking up to see Clarice, who's sitting on one of the couches with Zingo. A big smile appears her face, and she gives me a wave. I quietly laugh, before waving back to her.
"We lost six people the last time we went up against them directly." Sage says, leaning against one of the podiums.
"I know that better than anyone." John says.
"It won't be like last time." Marcos crosses his arms.
"You're right. Last time, we just hit a relocation center with a fence and some guard towers. This time it's a prison. Their systems have improved. Extrapolating from other attacks, we've got an 86.5 percent chance of failure." Sage says, speaking her statistics.
"And if we do nothing, then there's a hundred percent chance we never see them again." I shrug, and Sage just sighs.
"I know we're new here, but please." Cait adds, from beside Andy and Lauren.
"Lorna's risked her life for everyone in this room." Marcos begins to point out a few examples. "Harry, your parents would be dead without her. Sage, she pulled you out of a gutter, and she got you clean. I mean, she's... she needs us."
"Doesn't change the math, Marcos." Sage shakes her head.
"I don't care about the math. I care about Lorna." Marcos looks to everyone. "Who's with me?"
"I am." I give a small smile, putting my hand on top of his.
"I'm in." Sonya adds.
Harry raises his hand, before the attention shifts to Clarice. "Yeah, I'm in." She says.
"Okay." Marcos nods.
—
"Six people? Unbelievable." Marcos scoffs, while watching the camera footage of the prison, from the computers."Marcos, don't be so hard on them. A lot of them lost friends the last time." John says.
"Six of us to break into a prison?" Marcos begins.
"Um, seven, technically." I turn around to see Cait standing in the doorframe.
"I'm sorry, Caitlin, but-" Marcos gets interrupted by Clarice.
