You know how sometimes life just kind of moves along, and you move along with it...not because you necessarily want to, but you have to? You go through the days without any specific emotions, you're not happy, sad, or angry, you're sort of just, I don't know, existing? Yeah, well that pretty much sums up my life for the past six months. The mutant underground? Over and done with. Once Esme, Lorna, and refugees we'd been with for years, decided to turn their backs on us, everything was downhill from there. Cait and Reed make fake ID's for any new mutants we rescue, before sending them on their merry way. We haven't gotten any calls or texts from Lorna or Andy, let alone know where they are, or if they're even in Atlanta anymore. Lorna should be giving birth to the baby any day now. A part of me is still hurting at the fact that she would choose The Frosts over Marcos, John, and I, but hey, this is life and people change. Anyway, sentinel services have been on our asses heavier than ever, I'm talking full out raiding mutant homes, hospitals, arrests, killings, the whole nine.

I walk down an alley way, with Clarice and Lauren at my sides. The three of us have grown really close, well, Clarice and I have. I've always seen Lauren as like a younger sister of the sort. It's funny how Clarice and I became best friends in a way, after all we went through with Sonya. I pull my vibrating cellphone out of the pocket of my jean jacket, glancing at the caller ID before pressing the green answer button.

"Hey, handsome." A small smirk plays at my lips, causing Clarice and Lauren to divert their attention towards me.

"Hey, I found the first group. I think the second one went into the storm drains on the north side." John's voice rings throughout the speaker.

"Yeah, we're on our way." I say, before ending the call. "Sounds like we made it just in time." I say to the two girls beside me.

"Maybe. We haven't saved anyone yet." Lauren says negatively. No matter how much she denies it, I can tell how much she really misses Andy.

"Something wrong there, sunshine?" Clarice stops in her tracks, turning to check on Lauren.

"Sorry, it's just... it's the third raid this month." Lauren apologizes.

"I know it's a lot, but that's why we're here, right?" Clarice looks to the blonde with sympathetic eyes.

"Right." Lauren nods, before advancing ahead into the open area in front of us. "Where are they? No ones here." I scan the perimeter, before hearing a loud thump along with someone saying: we have to get out! The three of us run over to a door, that has some type of metal barrier on the top that we're able to see through. I pull on the door, but it's locked. Clarice pulls her hands apart, creating a portal, for Lauren and I to jump through and into the room. I hear pounding on one of the other exits, and I turn to see a few sentinel service officers trying to break through the door.
