Next Day

Nicole's POV

It's Friday! My favorite day of the week. But not today, because we have exams. As I walked inside our room, Violet came running to me.

"Nicole! You're being summoned by the principal," she said in a stuttering voice.

"Why?" What did I do this time?

"I don't know. Miss Layla just told me to tell you that."

I ran to the principal's office. I knocked on the door. When it opened, I saw prez standing at one end of the room. At the other side, another man was standing. I was so scared I started trembling. I was about to cry; that other man was the molester! It's like my soul was being sucked out of me. Suddenly, someone grabbed me by the waist. I didn't dare to look, but I felt secure. So, I knew who it was.

"Clyde, is it true that you punched this man?" the principal asked.

"Yes sir," Clyde replied.

"So you mean to say that you heard a girl's voice in a dark alley, rushed over, saw this man and punched him because the girl was crying? Is this true?"

"Yes sir."

"Didn't you know that this man is her boyfriend?" I was shocked when I heard what the principal said and looked at the guy. He was smirking.

"Please let go of my baby," the man said. Prez let go of me. I was scared to death.

"As your punishment Clyde, I'm sad to say, you will be stripped of your position as Student Council President."

I could see the look on Clyde's face. It was filled with anger and despair. I asked myself why prez isn't defending himself?! He just kept silent the entire time. I held his hand and mustered every bit of courage to speak.

"No that is not true! Prez saved me that night. I was being stalked by that man right there. I was about to be raped. If prez didn't come then I could have been raped that night," I was stuttering when I said this because I was crying.

"You have quite the nerve to set foot in this school," Clyde said.

"Baby how can you say that to me? I know we fought the other night but please forgive me, and prez please don't butt in," he smirked at prez again. "Let's go home baby." I was so scared when he said this. Then someone knocked on the door and cops went in.

"What's happening?" The man said.

"You dare touch my students?!" the principal said. "Take him away!" Then the cops took him with them. I was trembling because I had put prez in a tight spot again.

"I'm sorry for what I said to you a while back, Clyde. Good thing you noticed I was playing with him so he would stay longer," the principal said.

"You shouldn't be asking for my forgiveness," Clyde says as now pointing at me. "Tell her that." Then he left.

"Sorry, Ms. Flores. I didn't believe Clyde at first, but as soon as you spoke, I knew that both of you were innocent, so I contacted the police beforehand and let them wait outside."

"Well, thank you, sir. I should get going. I need to take my exams now." As I exited the room, I saw prez leaning on a window. So I approached him.

"Prez." I was going to say sorry but I just couldn't find the words and muster the courage to tell him that.

"Thank you, Flores," he told me and tears were falling on my cheeks again. Why thank me? I was the one who put him in this mess and he was thanking me! I hate myself so much.

"Why thank me?"

"Because if you didn't speak a while ago, they would never have believed me. So if there is anything that I can do, just let me know."

"Anything?" I told him.

"Yes, anything. I don't want to be indebted to anyone."

I was so happy. "Okay! That's a promise!" So I went back to my classroom.

"What happened?" Violet asked.

"After the exam I will tell you everything."

The exam started. As I was looking at the exam paper, I noticed that the questions were almost exactly like what prez gave me, not in the exact order, but it was almost identical and I could remember everything that he taught me. I finished the test quickly.

"Your grades will be posted outside on Monday," Ms. Layla said. I saw Violet pass her papers then walked towards my direction.

"Now, I want to hear your story." As we were walking, I told her everything, and she was startled.

"So, it's like prez was your knight in shining armor, and he was able to save you twice already! But that creep got some nerve confronting the both of you." She was angry, "Please, Nicole, take care of yourself."

"Yes, friend," I smiled at her. She smiled back, her cheeks seemed almost about to rip off.

"So we're friends now?" she said excitedly.

"Well, you know all of my secrets, so yes!" I told her and she pulled and hugged me.

"Let's go shopping!" she said.

"I don't have money."

"Don't worry, my treat!" Then we left.
