Nicole's POV

I was startled when I heard Clyde talking to himself. What did I just do?! I remembered a vague memory. Did I really kiss him last night?! I couldn't remember.

"Why? I accidentally kissed her again? No! This is not good," Clyde said.

And there's the answer to my question. So I did kiss him. How could I look him in the eye now? I won't say it was a mistake. Wait a minute... I could still act normal because he doesn't know that I was the one who initiated the act. Mischievous things were running through my mind. Now, Clyde Rubio, I will have my fun. As he tried to stand up, I held his arm.

"Where do you think you're going without your crutches?" I asked.

"Just gonna prepare something to eat. Besides, I can walk without crutches already," he said.

He recovered that fast? It seems he couldn't look me in the eyes. This will be a fun and exciting day!

"I told you, I will nurse you back to health. Don't be stubborn and let me help you."

"Then I'll help you cook so your food will be edible,"

Was he mocking me? Well... my cooking does suck.

"Okay, you can help me."

"Let's go."

I handed him his crutches. I was not convinced that he recovered that fast. He didn't utter a word.

We went downstairs and I started chopping ingredients. He just stared at me the entire time. I almost cut myself. Then, he got up and stood behind me. What is this idiot thinking?

"You're cutting them wrong. Let me assist you," he said.

He put his arms around me and held my hands. He gently guided me in chopping the ingredients. I couldn't really concentrate with my heart pounding so hard. It's hard to keep cool whenever I think of the kiss I planted on him last night. But he is kinda calm. Well, I'll have my fun later. He took a step back, then sat down. I glimpsed back at him. It seems he got tired quickly.

"It will just take thirty minutes to finish that and don't stir it too often," he said.

"Okay, boss."

He chuckled after I said this. He began setting up the table. I turned off the stove and we began to eat. In fairness, it was good. I was shocked that I was able to cook something delicious.

"Hey, settle down. The food isn't going anywhere," he said.

I didn't notice that I was eating so quickly.

"Thank you, Clyde for teaching me how to cook."

"No problem."

"Say, how can I repay you? I caused a bit of trouble last night because of my cooking," I asked.

I looked at him and he grinned. What's this bastard thinking?

"How about a wash? I haven't cleaned myself since yesterday," he said.

"Okay, follow me," I said without hesitation.

We went inside the room to get ready. I glanced at him one last time before entering the bathroom... he was shaking. What's gotten into him. I took everything that I needed and went outside.

"Why are your clothes still on?" I asked.

"Uhm... you see, I think this is a bad idea," he said.

"What do you mean? Consider this as a 'Thank you' for everything that you have done for me so far. Now, take of those clothes so I can start already."

"I think I'm alright by myself."

After saying that, I grabbed his left arm. He tried to suppress a sound, but the pain was written all over his face.

"Same old Clyde. Thinking he can do everything on his own. When will you start trusting me? Even for a little bit?"

"I'm sorry... please take care of me."

I started unbuttoning his clothes. When I got to the fourth button, I realized that his chest was visible. DAMN! It's like an oven in here. My face turned scarlet. I looked up to see what kind of face he was making... he was looking in a different direction, completely avoiding my gaze. So this is how he wants to play. As soon as I unbuttoned everything, I quickly pulled off his shirt. He was surprised and looked at me.

"What are you doing?! That hurt!" he said.

"Finally, you looked this way," I said.

He scratched his head. What is with that reaction? I held his face, pinched his cheeks and took off his specs.

"You know, you look more gorgeous without the specs," I said.

"I don't want to damage my eyes further, if I can help it," he said.

"Why don't you just wear it to school?"

"I'm not used to it."

I didn't ask further. I started to bathe him.

"It's cold," he said.

"Don't be a cry-baby!" I said.

He didn't reply. I need to think of another topic asap.

"Clyde, if you're living alone, where do you get your money from? You quit your job, right?" I asked.

"I get an allowance from school because I'm the president. Also, my grandfather found out about my situation," he frowned.

"Clyde, you don't have to tell me if you..."

"No, it's alright. You see, my allowance comes from my parents, siblings and our grandfather. My grandfather knew my whereabouts and decided to create a bank account for me. That's where he deposits the part of my allowance that comes from him. Later on, my siblings did the same thing. Ironically speaking, I'm still dependent on my parents... and other members of my family. And about my part-time job, I had no choice but to quit because school schedules became hectic, being the president and all."

"You must be rich," I said.

He giggled.

"I'm not rich... my parents are."

That's the response rich people give. I took his toothbrush.

"Open wide."

"Wait, wait, wait, I can move my hands."

"Nope! You're under my care!" I shouted.

I shoved it inside his mouth and started to brush his teeth. I had fun looking at his face with his eyes all teary. I was laughing so hard. He looked like a puppy begging for food.

"Okay, gargle."

As soon as he gargled, he glared at me.

"Don't do that again! I'm not a baby!" he exclaimed while holding onto his cheeks.

"You know, you're not scary with a face like that."

I was still laughing.

"Thank you."

"You're always welcome... Baby Clyde," I said and winked at him.

"Very funny."
