(Tristan Asher)
It's not that I haven't thought about this night before. I've pictured it a lot differently in my head though. It was always a what if scenario. But it never ended like this. Whoever attacked us, knew Caius would be here tonight. It was perfect timing, and their target was pretty clear. I stop by my house to get some weapons before heading to the lookout. The fight's still going on, so I start shooting. I definitely don't want to kill all of them.
"Restrain two and finish the rest," I tell the Pack, knowing they can hear me. I shoot to injure, until they can't move, then Rick and Xavier carry the bodies to the side. I'm so grateful Rick demanded he tagged along now. The fight ends a few short minutes later, a total of eight enemy wolves dead.
"Where is she?" Cheryl runs up to ask me.
I place my hands on her arms, assuring her, "She's safe. She's at home."
"Find out who did this," she orders and I nod. Then she turns to Henry, telling her husband to take her home to their daughter. I turn to find my brother. He's being healed by Estella, Anna's mom.
"You okay?" I ask him.
He nods, "Yeah, damn rival Packs. You holding two hostage?"
"Yeah, we need to know who did this."
"You didn't have to kill them all," Xavier, our Pack peacekeeper, says.
I turn to him, "They started this. No one's stupid enough to think they'll make it out alive after attacking the ShadowBrooke Pack."
"We definitely don't want to appear weak," Caius backs me up.
"Burn the bodies," I tell Timmy, who's part of the cleanup crew, before helping Caius up as Xavier and Rick stat to tie up the hostages for transport to the dungeon, "We'll deal with this tomorrow."
"We got four runners. Into the woods going west," Keith informs us and I let out a growl.
"Rick, go with Tristan," Caius tells my best friend before ordering someone else to help Xavier.
Rick doesn't need to be told twice, before we transform into our wolf form and take off into the woods. My legs are in full speed and I hear the fight before I even see it. It's just Keith fighting. Three of the enemy are injured, but are still attacking. I help Keith out first, seeing that he has two after him, while Rick takes care of the other two.
The fuckers didn't even see me coming. My speed, definitely, is a gift and the fact that I'm so light on my feet. Moving around without being heard is an advantage in my line of work. I go for one of the legs to immobilize him, before biting down on the other's neck, causing him to whimper and jump off of Keith.
"Thanks man," he replies before we both go to help Rick out.
There is a she-wolf among the attackers. I see Keith go for her so I take care of another one, clawing his eye out before pushing him aside. Rick takes care of the last one.
I transform back to human and tell Keith, "I want her alive."
Keith gives me an annoyed look but follows the order. I walk up to him and grab the she-wolf by the neck and order, "Transform. Now."
Surprisingly, she does, "How's the pretty little boy?"
"Who sent you?" I demand, realizing she's the one who attacked Caius, "Tell me and I'll spare your friends."
"You're not even their Alpha."
"No, I'm worse," I pull her by the hair, "who sent you?"
"Your father will know," she replies, before bowing her head, "We're here to bring you home, Alpha Asher."
