(Tristan Asher)

Estella has Scarlet on bedrest for the next two weeks. I work from our bedroom so I can keep a watch on her too. She hasn't spoken a word yet, at least not when she's awake. Countless times, though, I'll wake up to find her sleepwalking around the house, which terrifies me. She shouldn't be moving in her state. She can easily get hurt. Again. I don't know what to do about that. Estella says it'll pass.

Anna and Cheryl are here almost every day. If one's not here the other is. Damon had to tell his parents what happened to their daughter. They don't know the details of her torture, I spared them from that. I just can't look Cheryl in the eye, knowing I didn't protect her daughter. She's putting on a brave face and she's taking care of me while she's here taking care of her daughter too.

Ava tried visiting. I put a stop to that real quick. Just a couple more days and we're out of here. I can't wait to go back home and keep Scarlet away from trouble. Away from here and away from Ava to the best of my ability. Caius also visits frequently, just to see her. Surprisingly, it doesn't bother me as much as it bothers Olivia. But Olivia is his problem.

I glance up at Scarlet's limp form on the bed. Her eyes are on the TV that I turned on for her, but she's obviously not watching. Anna comes in carrying a tray of food and drinks. She places the tray on the dresser before bringing a plate and glass of wine over to my desk.

"Anna, you know you don't have to do this," I look at my fiancé's best friend. I don't think I ever really talked to her much before. I never had a reason to and from what I remember she didn't really like me.

She nods, "I know. I want to. Please let me. She's my sister."

"Okay..." I trail off as she walks over to the bed with another plate of food before she starts feeding Scarlet. I watch my girl eat absently, her eyes clearly showing she's here but not with us. I don't know what to do to bring her back. I've been religiously following Estella's orders for Scarlet's treatment, but there's no sign of improvement.

Anna stays for another three hours before we're left alone. I give Scarlet a bath and clean her up carefully before tucking her in bed once again. I asked her if she'd like to go sit outside so she can get some sun, but she doesn't reply or react. So I pull apart the remaining curtains, letting in as much sun as possible.

Then I call Cheryl and see if she can come over for a few hours while I go into town for a Pack meeting. I tried getting out of it, but I need to get out of the house. Just for a little bit.

(Scarlet James)

I hear Mom and Tristan talking outside the room and Tristan promises he'll be back as soon as the Pack meeting is over. Then Mom comes in and smiles at me.

"What do you say about a girls night, baby?" she smiles at me before picking up the remote, "Chick flick? Comedy, maybe?"

I watch her go to through the list, before she settles on a classic. Then she starts to leave to get snacks.

"Tristan," I say, making her stop mid-stride. She turns to me and comes to sit down at the edge of me bed.

"Honey, Tristan will be back in an hour or so..." she trails off, not knowing what to say.

"They wanted Tristan," I whisper.

Her eyes flash with anger for a split second before she caresses my cheek, "Tristan has a lot of enemies, baby, I'm sorry you fell victim to them because of him."

"It's not his fault," I defend him. Tristan has done everything in his power to keep me safe all these years.

Mom just stares at me, before she says, "I'm going to go get snacks okay?"
