Chapter 11: Mom

"So what did your mom say?" I ask Caius and he looks at me surprised.

"You didn't hear?" he asks.

"No? I was giving you guys your privacy," I tell him, confused.

He smiles, "You're going to love this."

"Okay...?"

"She's with you. She basically told me to complete our mating process," he comes to wrap his arms around me.

I stare at him, "She did not."

"I swear she did."

"Why? Why would she tell you to do that, especially when you're going to propose tomorrow to end the war between the Packs?" I question him and Bethany's motives.

"Because there was only one thing holding me back from calling the whole thing off to being with and she gave me what I was looking for," he confesses, before kissing me passionately, "with you by my side, we will conquer the Half Moon Pack."

I pull away, "Caius, don't call it off."

"Why?" he asks narrowing his gaze on me.

"Because, you mating me won't stop anything. But you mating Olivia can. You have to do this for the Pack, for our friends and family," I explain, but he's starting to look annoyed, "Plus, you already made the calls for the engagement party tomorrow. If you call it off now, they will retaliate. You know that."

He seems to think about it, before shaking his head and heading for the bar, "I need a drink. Do you want something?"

"It's four in the afternoon..." I point out and he gives me a look. I shake my head telling him no. I go to sit on the couch as he reaches for the TV remote and I realize our previous conversation about calling off the engagement is over, "What do you want to watch? Thought we could kill some time before dinner."

"May I?" I ask, gesturing to the remote in hand. He gives it to me and gets up.

"I'll get the popcorn," he tells me and then casually makes his way to the kitchen.

I hear the popcorn popping in the kitchen before hearing Caius's phone ringing. He picks it up on the second ring, "Yeah, what's up?...I can't right now...just take care of it, you don't need me to be there, Damon. I'm sure you can handle it on your own...yeah, alright, I gotta go now. I'll talk to you later about this."

The call barely lasted two minutes and Caius returns with a big bowl of popcorn. He turns the lights off on his way over and hands me the bowl before sitting down beside me, placing his left arm over my shoulders.

"Everything okay?" I ask him as the movie starts.

He nods, giving me a smile, "Yeah, it's all good. Just work stuff."

We eat the popcorn and continue to watch the movie. I glance at Caius. His eyes are on the TV while he chews on the popcorn before absently grabbing more from the bowl on my lap and popping them into his beautiful mouth. I can just sit here and watch him all night long. Everything I've hoped for is sitting right next to me.

I smile before grabbing his face and kissing him ferociously on the lips. When we pull away, he laughs, "I have popcorn in my mouth."

I lick my buttery salted lips from kissing him and shrug, "So?"

"Oh?" Caius replies before pulling my face back to him making our lips collide. I smile against the kiss. He distractedly takes the popcorn bowl off my lap and places it on the coffee table in front of me, all the while still kissing. His hand returns to my waist and he pulls me closer to his body.
