There were a lot of complicated aspects of life. Different stages that occurred at different times.

But Cat had never thought picking cake was one of it.

She had learned more about this world watching people argue over what cake should be presented at the wedding than in anything else.

Why was cake so important? Apparently, certain flavors could offend certain people. After all it was twenty eighteen.

She crossed her white crochet jumpsuit snug legs, letting her turquoise eyes wander over the two complaining ladies.

She'd had enough. "Ladies," her voice rung out, instantly silencing the women.

"Must I remind you, this is my wedding. I would like to have the cake that I and Alexei like."

She narrowed her eyes at the two women, who sprang up from their seats in fear and walked away.

Cat let out a heavy sigh, trying to free some stress.

There was only one solution left.

"Ayla," Cat yelled for her assistant, "Get in contact with Alexei and tell him he's needed. If he can't come, tell him the wedding is off."

Cat stared at the huge rock on her hand. It was absolutely beautiful, customized to fit Cat's personality.

It was classic, vintage and breathtaking.

Cat remembered when Alexei had proposed to her. It was a beautiful night.

A surprise that she wasn't mad about.

Lately Cat had been under a lot of pressure from the board of werewolf education. They had refused to input a counselor like one in most human schools.
