Y/N's POV

"Where are we going cookie?" I asked him curiously.

"You'll just have to wait and see pumpkin" he replied. "It's a surprise!"

"I love suprises! But not as much as I love you" I flirted as I kissed his cheek. He smiled.

"I bet I love you more" he flirted back and I giggled.

"I love you most" I replied. We continued to walk together, flirting and giggling the whole way, until we reached a quiet, peaceful lake. Since it was during the summer time, the sun was still shining brightly and the lake glistened and shimmered in its light.

"Here we are!" Patton told me, gesturing to the lake.

"Oh I love it. It's so calm and peaceful here" I smiled brightly, making Patton smile.

"I love it when you smile Y/N. Your smile is so contagious" I giggled.

"Thanks"

"Right, let's get on our boat then"

"Boat?" I repeated. Patton nodded.

"I thought we could go on a romantic boat ride across the lake. I mean if you don't want to, we don't have to but I thought-" I interrupted him by planting a gentle kiss on his lips.

"I'd love to go on a boat ride with you"

We'd boarded the small, wooden gondola with a man at the front using an oar to sail it. Smiling, I gazed into Patton's big, hazelnut brown eyes.

"Oh Patton, you're so handsome. I hope you know that. And you're so kind and considerate and caring and compassionate and empathetic and I just love everything about you. You are a wonderful person and the only guy I could ever see myself with" I told him.

"Thanks. You and I, we understand eachother better than anyone else
Y/N. We're so similar. We must be anyway because everything you told me applies to you as well" we both leaned in for a kiss as we softly planted one on eachothers lips. It didn't last long but every second was worth it.

The boat had reached the end of the lake and Patton jumped off onto the shore before lending me his hand to help me off. We thanked the man sailing the boat as he sailed back to the other side. Patton lead me to a quite spot on a bank where a white and red chekered picnic blanket was layed out alongside a wooden picnic basket, white china plates with the most delicious food layed out on them, two wine glasses and a tall bottle with a drink in it.

"After you" he gestured towards the picnic that was layed out as I sat down on the blanket, him sitting opposite me.

"Help yourself" he now gestured to the food as I began to eat, ensuring that I left enough for him. I could tell that it was all homemade and he must have been an amazing cook because it all tasted delicious.

"Wow Patton! You do know how to cook. This food tastes amazing!" I complimented him.

"Thank you. Now, would you like a drink?" He asked me, picking up a wine glass and the bottle.

"Oh I'd love one but I don't drink" I told him.

"Me neither. That's why I brought shloer"

"Wow. We really do understand eachother don't we?"

"Yeah we do" Patton giggled, "would you like some then?"

"Yes please" he unscrewed the lid and carefully poured an equal amount of drink into each glass. Handing me my drink, I thanked him as we both took a sip.

"Thank you Pat, for everything. For the boat ride, the food, the date, loving me, just everything you've ever done for me. You've done so much for me and I wish that there was a way to repay you"

"Your love is all the payment I ever need" With that, I kissed him on the cheek as we continued with our picnic.

Time skip

We'd finally finished our picnic and were on a different boat this time, heading back to the other side of the lake. The sun was begginning to set and as I marvelled at the beautiful sunset, I felt Patton take both of my hands in his. I quickly turned around and my eyes met his as we gazed into eachothers' beautiful eyes.

"Y/N, I just wanted to let you know how much I love you and no matter what happens, we'll always be together, I promise"I nodded.

"Through sun and rain, snow and hail, hot and cold, thick and thin, I'll always love you no matter what" I told him, kissing him on the cheek.

Suddenly, the boat began to rock. Scared, I quickly hugged Patton for comfort.

"Pat, I'm scared. What if the boat tips over?" I asked him, panic tracing my voice.

"Then I'll catch you and keep you safe" he replied just as the boat tipped over and landed on top of us. I felt myself let go of his grip involuntarily as I closed my eyes and began to fall. Was this the end? The lake didn't seem that deep but I still struggled to get up. Just then, I felt someone gently grab me and lift me up to the surface. I opened my eyes and took a big breath of air. I looked to see Patton holding onto me.

"You...you saved me?"

"Did you ever doubt I would? I love you too much to let you drown" I kissed his forehead.

"Thank you Patton"

"Of course. I'd do anything for you" he carefully carried me to the shore and then placed me carefully on the bank as he sat down next to me.

"It's a good job I wore waterproof makeup isn't it?" I joked, making him giggle.

"Right, let's get you home so you can dry off"

Time skip

We were both drenched but we didn't care. We still had an amazing date. When we finally reached Bella's house, we planted a quick kiss on eachother's lips.

"Goodbye Patton. Thank you for a wonderful evening. I loved every moment of it. I adore spending time with you"

"Me too. Maybe we could do it again sometime" I nodded.

"Goodbye then" I quickly gave him another kiss on the cheek before heading into Bella's house smiling.
