Beca is starting to regret auditioning for this stupid play. Currently Beca was busy trying to remember these complicated lines. I mean how old is this play?! Feels like her grandma wrote this. She wonders if Aubrey is secretly an old woman undercover, trying to stop young people from having fun. All she does is argue with Beca. Do this Beca, no step here Beca, don't do that Beca. It's like Aubrey was put on this earth to be a pain in Beca's ass. "Beca! Hurry up and get over here, you need to practice your lines with Stacie." Behind her She could hear a squeal of excitement from Stacie. Beca took a deep breath in, why did she have to get a huge part in the play? I mean she can play a really convincing tree. Just ask her dad, back in third grade she was the most convincing tree out there. Beca huffed out, while walking out from backstage onto the front. There she saw that Aubrey was looking through the script at the bottom of the stage. Beca has had enough, its only the first day of rehearsals and she's almost fell asleep on the first scene. Beca walked up to Aubrey and cleared her throat trying to get her attention. Aubrey didn't even look up from the paper, "yes Beca?" She asked uninterested. "Dude this play is like from the fifteen hundreds, how am I supposed to remember all these lines?" Beca said shaking the script at Aubrey in complete frustration. Aubrey sighed, "Well why did you audition in the first place? If you don't want to be in the play just say so. Anyone could easily replace you." Aubrey said with a smirk on her face. Beca scoffed in annoyance, "I never wanted to be in this stupid play anyways, Jesse's the one who made me. Maybe you should put on a play that doesn't bore people to death." Beca fired back instantly causing people to murmur with agreement around them. "yea this sucks!" Benji said in the background, currently picking out a wedgie from his own costume. "See? They agree with me! Can't we do something more simple?." Beca asked her hopefully. Aubrey looked around her at the people nodding their heads, Aubrey sighed in frustration. This did suck as Benji put it, this play was even boring to her. She's only doing it so she can get extra college credits. "Okay miss smart ass, what other play should we do? Since you're clearly the expert here." Aubrey said crossing her arms smiling tightly at Beca. Beca smiled in victory, "well since you're asking nicely, I had an idea in mind. What about just a simple Romeo and Juliet? It's a simple story and it won't be as boring as this already is." Beca said gesturing to the script in her hands. Aubrey stood there for awhile contemplating as everyone was holding their breaths waiting for her answer. Aubrey rolled her eyes and sighed, "Fine, if it will be simple minded for you guys to remember than I don't care. I still better get my college credits for this." Aubrey said mumbling angry while leaving the room to go print out Romeo and Juliet scripts for everyone. Everyone cheered, Benji walked up to Beca "Thank god, I don't think I could have handled this costume anymore." He said still trying to pull his underwear out of the wrong place. Beca laughed as she saw Benji run offstage to get changed. As soon as Beca was gonna walk offstage too Stacie came walking towards her, "So Romero and Juliet huh? That's a classic romantic story. Maybe I could be your Juliet to your Romeo?" Stacie said biting her lip seductively at Beca. Beca's eyebrows went up in surprise, "Uh Stacie, I'm for sure not going to be Romeo. There's plenty of other guys for that." Beca said gesturing to the other boys messing around with the props. Stacie's smile didn't falter, "Well we will just see about that." Beca was about to question her when Stacie ran off stage and out of the room after Aubrey. "Okay..." Beca shook her head in confusion and walked off stage to sit in the front row. Maybe she could get a good nap in while Aubrey's gone. Beca closed her eyes and slouched down in the chair. As she was about to doze off she felt someone sit next to her. Beca opened her eyes and looked to the right of her. "Hey, I heard you got Aubrey to change the play. How did you do it?" Chloe asked her in awe. Beca laughed, "I could tell she didn't really care what play she put on as long as it was Shakespeare's. Everyone seems obsessed with him lately." Beca said confusedly, closing her eyes once more. Beca was a bit nervous to be around Chloe but she sure didn't show it. Beca doesn't know what to say or even if they're gonna acknowledge what happened between them. Beca is hoping it's the latter, her life is complicated enough. Chloe laughed at her answer, "I must say I am impressed, I guess Beca Mitchell does have her charm." Chloe told her playfully nudging Beca's shoulders. Beca gasped, "Dude don't go saying my last name outloud, you will totally ruin my cover." Beca said covering her face. Chloe laughed, "oh shut up, it's not that bad to have a parent as a teacher. At least you will for sure get an A in poetry class." Beca scoffed, "Yea right, my dad won't even tell me what's gonna be our next assignment. I doubt he's gonna let me cheat the system." Beca said pouting, crossing her arms. Chloe snickered, "You can always cheat off me if you want. Your dad likes me." Chloe said confidently. Beca chuckled, "I mean you're kinda hard not to like." Beca said truthfully. Chloe smiled at her brightly, "Oh I am now?" She said teasingly at Beca. Beca's eyes went wide, "I meant your personality Beale! I'm sure if you smiled at someone they would gladly give you all their money." Chloe nodded in agreement, "Oh for sure, I don't doubt that." Beca gasped in surprise, "Wow cocky much?"  Chloe slowly leaned in towards Beca's left ear and whispered into it, "Oh you have no idea." Beca froze in her seat, as she opened her mouth to speak Aubrey suddenly burst through the door with Stacie by her side. "Okay everyone, I already assigned your roles by myself!" Aubrey walked to the front of the stage holding the scripts. Everyone crowded around her including Beca and Chloe. "Alright the part for Mercutio will go to Jesse." Aubrey said handing Jesse his lines. He squeaked in excitement, already opening his packet and running off somewhere. "The part of Tybalt will go to Benji." Benji gasped in shock, "I'm the bad guy? Sweet!" He also grabbed his script and ran off to where Jesse went. "Juliet will go to Stacie of course." Stacie smiled proudly grabbing the pages from Aubrey. Chloe clapped in congratulations at Stacie as she bowed for Chloe. "And the part of Romeo will go to Beca. You guys can decide what background characters you want to be, any questions?" Aubrey said tossing the script at Beca. "Wait what?! I thought we agreed I'm horrible with lines! Aubrey I can't be Romeo!" Beca said in complete shock, barely catching the script Aubrey tossed at her. Aubrey smiled teasingly at her, "Hey it was your idea, might as well get the main part. As for the lines you will just have to get help from Stacie. Good luck." Aubrey then walked away with the other scripts towards the other students. Stacie smiled brightly turning towards Beca, "oh would you look at that? Looks like you're gonna be my Romeo after all." Stacie said flirtatiously winking at Beca while walking away. Beca just stood there dumbfounded with Chloe by her side equally not pleased with the results. Chloe shook her and cleared her throat turning towards Beca, "It's gonna be okay Beca, you're totes gonna be aca-amazing." Beca groaned while slouching her shoulders, already opening her packet and looking at her lines. I sure hope so." Aubrey clapped on stage getting everyone's attention, "That's time people! Make sure to run your lines at home and tomorrow will be official rehearsals." Chloe smiled softly at Beca, "I could help you run lines?" She asked Beca hopefully. Beca smiled back at her, "Thanks Chlo I could honestly use all the help I can get." They both grabbed their things and walked out with the rest of the group.

"You can come to my house tonight? Apparently I'm the understudy of Juliet, so I'll need to remember the lines anyways." Chloe said shrugging her shoulders as they walked to their cars together. Beca nodded while throwing her bag in the back of her car, "sure I'll see you tonight?" Chloe smiled and pulled Beca into a hug, "sure thing chicken wang." Beca groaned, "Please don't ever call me that again. I can only handle so much of the short jokes." Chloe laughed nodding, "okay no more short jokes, bye Beca." Chloe said waving goodbye as she walked towards her own car. Beca smiled while waving back at Chloe. She sighed while getting into her own car and driving away. Her dad is gonna have a field day with this.
