Chloe sighed as she sipped on her third coffee of that morning in worry. It's been about two hours by now and no one has come to them with any new information. Beca's dad was holding up better than she was to be honest. He would ask the nurses then and again as they walked by him, of course about Beca but none of them could spare a moment to chat. Chloe's leg bounced nervously as she downed the rest of the coffee that was left in her cup. "Woah slow down there Beale, don't want you to tackle Beca with inhuman strength when she's finished now don't we?" Chloe chuckled lightly as she nodded. "I know I'm sorry, it's just I don't know what else to do. It's either drink coffee or go into a rage at how long this is taking." Beca's dad nodded with a sad smile in agreement. "I know trust me I feel a little on edge as well, but we have to stay strong and diligent. I'm sure the doctors will come rushing out of that room any second now." Chloe smiled as she hugged him. All of a sudden a doctor bursted out of an unknown room with blood all over his scrubs, clearly looking in distraught. "Jackie! We got a code red in patient Mitchell's room! Now!" Both Chloe and him stood up with worry all over their faces. Beca's dad spoke up first, Chloe too in shock to do anything at the moment, but watch as nurses rounded towards the room in a hurry. "What's going on?! Is Beca ok?!" He rushed towards the room making one of the nurses turn around to stop him. "Mr. Mitchell stop! Please, we need room to work sir. She's going to be ok, I promise." Beca's dad let out a fearful sob as he put his hands in his hair in panic. Chloe just sat there speechless as she felt her heart sink to the bottom of her chest.
"Beca wake up! Honey come on you're gonna be late for school!" Beca jumped up quickly out of her bed making her trip all over her clothes on the floor. "Ow!" Beca's mother laughed as she walked in to check on the noise. "I told you to pick up your clothes sweetie. Let that bruise on your ass be a lesson." Beca frowned in pain as she ran towards her bathroom to quickly brush her teeth before school. Beca shifted nervously in the back of her mom's car. "Are you sure I have to go to high school? I mean you and dad are smart enough to home school me. I could just-" Beca's mom chuckled wholeheartedly as she shook her head. "You know your dad is too busy for that and plus I finally get you out of the house for six months. Listen Becs, I know you're scared, but does anyone really get through life being scared all of the time?" Beca groaned as her mom spewed out more of her wisdom for the day. "I guess not..." Beca's mom turned around to face her as they sat in the schools parking lot. "You're gonna be fucking awesome in there. Trust me, once they see how rock and roll you are, everyone is gonna want to hang out with you. Even the cheerleaders." She said as she suggestively wriggled her eyebrows up and down at Beca. Beca laughed loudly as she rolled her eyes at her mother. "Oh come on mom! Just because I came out to you guys this summer doesn't mean girls are just gonna flock towards me all of a sudden." Her mom unbuckled her seatbelt and looked at Beca seriously. "Beca stop putting yourself down all the time. You are an amazing person and if those girls can't see that, then I say screw them. You're gonna do fine, it's only high school not college." Beca licked her lips nervously as she nodded. "Thanks mom, You always do know what to say." Her mom smiled at her softly as she shooed Beca out of the car.
"Mom?" Beca asked curiously as she peeked into her parents bedroom to find her mother laying down on her side. Beca's mom smiled at her sadly as she ushered Beca to sit down next to her. "How was school darling?" Beca shrugged her shoulders meekly. "It was alright I guess, Emily kept making me laugh in Science class, so don't get mad at me if you get a call from Miss Stewart." She laughed quietly, but it soon turned to pain making her rub her forehead. "I won't Beca, can you hand me my medicine? These headaches are getting worse and worser by the minute." Beca nodded quickly as she frowned in concern and went through her mom's medicine cabinet to grab her mom's pills. "Mom maybe you should go see the doctor one of these days. Headaches all day don't seem normal to me." Her mom sighed as she nodded in agreement. "I know, I know, but I have this upcoming meeting I have to prepare for next week and-" Beca interrupted her as she handed her mom a glass of water that was on her mom's coffee table. "Mom! Somthing could be seriously wrong, I know if dad was here right now he would agree with me." Beca's mom sighed as she nodded, rubbing her head gently. "Fine I'll go, but stop using your father for a vote when he's not even here." Beca laughed as she nodded, giving her mom a hug.
