"Are you ready miss Mitchell?" Beca felt like she couldn't breathe for a second, until she felt Chloe squeeze her hand for comfort. Beca let out a harsh breath as she turned towards the doctor. "Ready as I'll ever be, I guess." Beca's dad seemed calm on the outside but on the inside, he was more scared than Beca was. Sure Beca came home safely, which is thanks to a very adorable Chloe. Chloe told him before they left on the plane that she had an on flight nurse on her plane. He doesn't know how Beca and him got so lucky to have her in their lives. One time before Beca and him got up in the morning, there Chloe was with two of her own home made chefs preparing breakfast for them. The girl was the sweetest girlfriend Beca has ever had. Sure Beca has had sweet girlfriends before, but then Beca would break up with them. He always knew it was because she didn't want any attachments to them. Which he completely gets, Beca's mother was quite like Chloe actually. When they first met she was the rich popular girl in town and he was the lonely teenager who worked for his dad's oil company. No one paid him any attention, which he didn't mind at first until he saw Janet. That first eye contact they shared felt like they were the only two humans left in the world. It's like something inside of both of them, whether that be in their heart or in their brain, something just clicked together. That's how he knows that what Chloe and Beca have is real. Beca looks at Chloe the same way Janet used to look at him, and so forth. Chloe is really special to the both of them. On the other hand if he lost Beca to this horrible condition then he wouldn't know what to do with himself anymore. For years on end after Janet passed he would just lay in bed and not know what to do, how to move forward with his life. Sure he had Beca but she was fifteen years old and was being even more rebellious than usual. He knew it was wrong for him to lay in bed all day depressed while Beca just did what she wanted. He knew he had to be there for her though there was no mistake about that. Then Beca got diagnosed with the same condition his wife had...and to say the least that knocked him on his ass. Making him realize that he needed to be there for his daughter, just like he was there for his wife, and this time...he was gonna make sure she made it through this.
Beca blinked her eyes and all of a sudden she was in a white room in a hospital gown, lying down on her back. Before she went back to get changed Chloe told her she loved her once more and kissed her like it was the last time they were ever gonna kiss. "Miss Mitchell we are gonna start the IV now." She nodded as the nurse stuck the needle in her arm, injecting the anesthesia to put her to sleep. Beca was getting quite drowsy, and she kept blinking her eyes to try to stay awake. "Beca?" Beca scrunched her face together at the sound of a familiar voice and turned her head towards the nurse. "Jules?" Beca said drunkily, as she finally closed her eyes all together.
"Dad...? Hey I'm going to school now." Beca said with a tired voice as she stared at her father's back as he faced the wall unmoving. She knew he was awake because he slept all day yesterday and only woke up to eat what Beca made him for lunch. "Well I'll see you in seven hours or so, oh and your breakfast is in the microwave. Love you dad..." Beca said as she stood in the doorway for a couple minutes longer as he just laid there with tears in his eyes. Beca sighed heavily as she shut her dad's door behind her slowly. She almost cried right then and there but she shrugged it off, pushing her feelings way down inside of herself. There's no need to cry anymore, her moms gone but her dad's still here. Well at least he's sort of here, physically anyways. She's gotta be strong for the both of them. Beca grabbed her bike from the garage as she peddled her way towards her school. It's been ten months since her mom passed and her dad wasn't present for any of the days they spent together. Beca didn't want to say anything as did her dad. For the the first three months they went on like everything was normal. They didn't talk except for sad smiles and saying hello in the mornings. They were just there to be there most days. At least at home is was more normal than it was at Beca's school. They treated her like she could break at any moment. Of course everyone knew of her mom's passing. Her mom was at every school event for Beca, and everyone in that town was very friendly, I mean they all basically grew up with each other when they were kids. Beca finally got to her school as she positioned her bike at the railings and locked her bike up. "Hey!" Beca got up startled as she saw a very attractive girl coming up towards her. Beca smiled with recognition as her on and off again girlfriend Jules sauntered up to her, with a seductive smile on her face. "Hi baby, are you coming to my party tonight?" Jules asked as she was in her tight fitted red cheerleaders outfit that made Beca drool internally." Beca smiled widely as she blushed and nodded at Jules. "Yea I wouldn't miss it for the world babe." Jules smiled in satisfaction as she looked around to see if anyone was watching them. Once she was see no one was looking she quickly gave Beca a peck on her cheek. Beca blushed wildly as Jules backed away from her quickly. "Oh and remember to text me before you come so I can sneak you in." Beca at her tightly in hurt as she nodded once more before Jules eventually left her to go join her pack of her loyal servants, aka the other cheerleaders. Beca sighed sadly as she put her backpack back on her shoulder and turned to enter the hell she calls school. All Beca could honestly say about her school was that everyday was torture. Beca was basically invisible to everyone except for the jocks who would tease her everyday about absolutely nothing. She honestly felt bad for them, every day she would see them be expected to do the same thing everyday and they become restless. So I guess in a way they bullied her for some sort of release. Beca honestly doesn't care at this point, most days she felt numb to their teasing. Each day that went on it after her mother died it became easier and easier to just ignore them. Beca thinks they're starting to catch on and just learn to ignore her as well. I guess it's not fun for them anymore if they don't get an ounce of reaction out of her these days. Except for one jock that Beca could never seem to get away from, Jule's jock of a boyfriend Patrick.
