The Sick Truth.

(So sorry guys, I had horrible writers block)

*2 Weeks Later*

~Vallory's P.O.V.~

Jayden has been coming over every other day, and whenever he gets a break to visit. I had to break the news to him about mom...He didn't know any of our other siblings because he was abducted 7 years ago, the earliest any of our siblings were adopted were 5 years ago. But, I did get to introduce him to Lenny, who would be Jayden's brother also. They got along great! Lenny just loved Jayden, said he'd always want an older brother. It was heartwarming, both of my brothers that I thought were gone are spending time together as we speak! They wanted their 'bro time' so I was in the living room talking with Carol and Beth

"So sweetie, how're you and Carl doing?" Beth asked with a dramatic wink.

"You both are 15 now, do your father and I need to give him 'the talk'?" Carol asked, my eyes widened and I covered my ears.

"Nope, nope, nope, nope, noooooope! I'm getting food!" I announced, running into the kitchen. I sadly could still hear the two giggling because the only thing that separates the two rooms is the island.

The food supply was running short, but we still had enough to fill the cabinets and fridge. But that's because we're all use to rationing and not eating very much. So, most of the restaurants are shutting down, but that's okay, none of us thought they'd last anyways. In a way, this is better. I am so adapted to surviving on what we have, I don't know if I can handle such an abrupt change. It sounds stupid, I know. But in the beginning of the apocalypse we put forth so much time and effort to adapt to the harsh environment that I'm not sure I could completely 'come back'. Maybe Rick was wrong, maybe I was too far gone... On the way back to the living room, I passed the hallway that lead to my and Lenny's room and I could hear Lenny and Jayden's muffled laughs. Being the evil sister I am, I snuck over to his bedroom door and placed my ear against it.

"Okay, Okay," Lenny breathed, trying to recover from their laughing fit, "I need to ask you something."

"Okay," Jayden laughed, "Shoot."

"Have you ever heard of...The Immunity?" I froze, where was he going with this?

"Uh, yeah, Christian talked to me about it." Jayden sounded a little uneasy, "Why?"

"Well, what would you do if you got really close to someone, and you figured out that they were immune...What would you do?"

"Gosh, I don't know," Jayden replied, but I knew what he would do. That's why I haven't told him yet. He may be my our brother, but I know his loyalty is with Christian, who I have a bad feeling about. He's been questioning me a lot more, and has been questioning my family and friends about what happened in Georgia, which no one likes talking about of course.

"I need to show you something really important..." Lenny trailed and I knew what he was about to do. Thank god someone knocked on the front door so I had an excuse to interrupt my siblings chat. I pushed the door open, Lenny stared at me like a deer caught in the headlights.

"We've got guests," I say, smiling though my teeth are clenched.

"Another time, 'kay buddy?" Jayden patted Lenny on the shoulder before walking out into the living room. I gave Lenny a look before walking out also, I heard him following slowly.

Turns out the people at the door were Glenn and Maggie. They said that they decided to adopt a kid, and they brought him over for everyone to meet. They adopted a little boy, Korean or Chinese by the looks of him, maybe around 3 or 4. He can talk, which is good, and he can walk and run pretty good.

"His name is Mason," Maggie said with a broad smile.

"Oh yay, Chinaman Jr.!" Dad laughed, suddenly appearing on the couch. I jumped back in surprise and put my hand over my pounding heart.

"Jesus Christ," I breathed, "Freaking Ninja."

"It's the Dixon way," He shrugged.

"I'm Asian," Mason pouted, "Not Chinese."

"You better get use to it, he's been calling your daddy Chinaman for at least 4 years," Beth laughed, picking Mason up. Wow, they've all known each other for that long?

"How about I dig up our special supply of ice cream to celebrate?" I announced, everyone cheered except for Mason. He cocked his head to the side, his brown eyes lit up with curiosity.

"Ice cream?" He tested, like he'd never heard of it before. Then it hit me, he probably never has.

The apocalypse started around 4 years ago, maybe more, Mason was at least 4. He was born in the apocalypse. Mason probably doesn't know about half of the things we do. He probably has never been to school, ate ice cream, been swimming in an actual pool, had more than enough to eat, had an actual childhood. My hand shot to my mouth as I realized it will be the same for Melody, Judith, and Lenny, let alone any other child born at the beginning or during the apocalypse. That's when I realized for the second time now...Maybe Ruth was right. No kid deserves to grow up in a world like this.

"Oh hey," Jayden said, breaking the icy silence, "It's almost dark, Christian will be wondering where I am."

"Okay," Carol said in kind voice, "Just try to get there before curfew, honey."

"Yeah, okay," Jayden sighed, "See ya guys, lovya guys."

"You to."

After a few, everyone started heading for home, afraid of breaking curfew. Now it was just me, dad, Carol, and Lenny. That is, until someone knocked on the door.

"Who could that be?" Carol asked, I shrugged.

"Maybe someone forgot something," Lenny suggested.

The person at the door was Dr. Greene, who had pretty much become the family medic. Maybe it was just the resemblance to Hershal, but we all liked him very much. Plus, he knew the trick when we first arrived with the 'contacts' was a scam. He knew my secret, and he hasn't told anyone, besides his cat. Dr. Greene has been studying Lenny and I very frequently, trying to figure out why we were immune to the walkers. Dr. Greene had his normal calm demeanor, but I could just...tell he was nervous. Why did I know that? I could practically hear his heart pounding, or was that mine? I put my hand to my chest, nope mine was beating normal. In fact, I could hear them all around the room. Dad and Carol's seemed to be the quickest, Dr. Greene never came this close to curfew. This is an emergency. Suddenly, I started feeling sort of...hungry. I excused myself and ran into the kitchen The smell of meat wafted into my nostrils, I hunted it down in the cabinets and devoured it. I felt satisfied, for now. Lenny was beside me, eating meat like I had just done. The sound of breathing, tapping, and everything became amplified in my ears and I stumbled a little when I walked back into the living room. My head was pounding now, and I knew Lenny felt the same. I groaned in pain, and I heard Lenny moaning as well.

"Oh my god!" Carol and dad set us down on the couch and put icepacks on our heads.

Lenny and I exchanged looks, I knew we were thinking the same thing. What the hell is going on? Dr. Greene's heart beat accelerated at seeing our states. After a few minutes, our head aches stopped and everything seemed to go back to normal.

"Oh no, it's happening faster than I expected," Dr. Greene said, pacing. Now the only heart beat I could hear was my own.

"W-What are you talking about?" I stammered, Dr. Greene shook his head.

"You said you were both bit, right? Along with a few other children?" I nodded my head, he sighed, "There is no Immunity."

I froze. What?!
