Chapter 6

I saw Conner's car parked in front of my house. He was getting out of it.

"Conner!" I called and ran to him, waving.

"Hey Lilly." He said. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah." I told him with a smile and got in the car.

On the way there we listened to the radio and talked. He asked me about how I was doing at my new college and stuff and I answered truthfully.

When we arrived at the Frozen Yogurt shop he held the door for me. I went over to the stations for the self serve yogurt and picked out a small cup. Conner came over and got a medium. We both got walnut and strawberry flavored yogurt. It's been our favorite sine we were kids. I got smashed cookies on mine and he got gummy bears.

When we were done paying we sat near the window.

"I have an idea." He exclaimed. "Lets play 10 questions."

"What's 10 questions?" I asked.

"It's this game where you ask someone ten questions that you've never asked them before." He said. "You go first."

"Okay." I nodded and sat up straight. "What's your favorite movie?"

"Anything with dinosaurs." He joked.

I giggled.

"My turn." He smiled. "Can I meet your birth parents?"

I froze.

"Uhh.." I stalled. "Conner, I don't honk that would be a great idea-"

"Why not?" He asked. "I'm your best friend aren't I? Remember when we were kids and you said that if you ever found them, I would be first to meet them."

"Conner." I sighed. I remember, but so much has changed since then. I might not even be allowed to bring you to them."

"Why not?" He asked.

"Security reasons." I told him. "Lets just say, my parents are really important and live really far away."

He sighed. "Okay. Maybe one day though."

"Yeah." I said. "Maybe one day..."

"So I believe I get another turn." He said.

"Why?" I gasped sarcastically. "It's my turn!"

"But you didn't answer my question." He informed me and went on. "What exactly do your parents do?"

I scoffed at his persistency. "You can't control yourself can you?"

"No. I'm just too curious for my own good." He defended.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, we're done with this game."

"Awwww." He groaned. "But we were having so much fun!"

"No we were not. You were having fun." I sighed.

"Yet you laughed." He said with a raised eyebrow.

"I was laughing at you you nincompoop." I laughed and ruffled his combed hair.

I took a bite of my frozen yogurt and looked out the window shortly. I saw Bloom and the girls flying. I smiled and looked back to Conner.

Wait!

I looked back out the window again and saw 6 certain fairies flying above the buildings. I gasped and stood up.

"Will you excuse me for a moment?" I excused myself politely and ran out the back entrance, into an alleyway.

I took a deep breath and transformed. Once I did, I cast an invisibility spell on myself before shooting up into the sky. I bolted toward my friends.

"Follow me quick!" I yelled and flew straight back down to the alley.

"Lilly!" Bloom yelled as they landed. "Where've you been?! We've been searching this entire town, Gardenia, Alfea and the palace!"

"I went to the park for a walk this morning and Conner invited me to get frozen yogurt to get my mind off thing with...you know." I explained.

Bloom sighed and hugged me. "I'm just glad you're safe. You can't just disappear like that."

"I know. I won't do it again." I promised and she nodded.

"Now cast an invisibility spell that works and fly wherever your hearts desire." I said and transformed back.

I walked back into the shop. Where did Conner go? I finally spotted him at the table next to ours and a blonde was sitting in my seat. I walked over to them.

"Who's she?" The girl asked when I approached.

"Rina-" Conner began.

"Hey. I'm Lilly." I introduced myself and held a hand out for her to shake.

"I didn't ask you." She hissed. "I asked my boyfriend here.

"Rina, we broke up a month ago." He groaned.

"But I'm willing to forgive you." She said and kissed his forehead.

Eww. For some reason that grossed me out. And got me mad. Probably best friend jealousy. When he got girls in high school I'd always be a third wheel.

"Excuse me?" I asked. "You know it's rude to sit in someone's seat while they're gone. It's even more impolite to still be sitting there when they get back."

She glared at me yet got up and walked away.

"Nice girl." I said sarcastically to Conner.

"I know right."
