Chapter 22

Bloom's POV

"I only have two days left." I said to the girls in the common room of our dorm.
"We have to find her."

"What if she doesn't want to be found?"Musa asked and everyone looked at her. "Bloom, we saw her. She has changed. This isn't like when she was scared to hurt us with her powers. I'm afraid she might want to."

I shook the thought out of my head. "No."

They all exchanged glances and I stood up but fell back down when the floor shook. The entire school was shaking. Flora and I stood up and went to the window to she what was happening but nothing was going on. Then a tree feel down in the forest. And another did as well. And another. And another. Soon Flora was shaking. A tree at the edge of the forest finally fell and Flora collapsed. I called for the winx. Musa and I helped Flora to her feet.

"Okay girls. We have to deal with that monster first and then we go get Lilly." I told them. "Ready?"

"Ready." They all said and we transformed.

"Flora you can sit this one out." I said to her and let her lie on the couch before the girls and I flew out the door and to the courtyard.

There was a gigantic creature terrorizing students but not attacking any yet. There was a girl controlling the creature and there was another girl who flew and observed the school. Neither of the girls had wings so they obviously are witches and they both wore masks that covered their faces and their hair.

I flew up close to the girl and she smirked at me.

"Who are you?" I asked but she didn't answer.

"Why have you come here?" I asked and she motioned for me to come closer.

"To make Alfea's walls crumble." She whispered and I flew back before firing a spell at her. She flew to the side and the spell missed her. She laughed and the girls flew to my sides.

"Ah, the famous winx!" The girl smiled. "What a pleasure to see you."

"Have we met?" Stella asked and the girl shook her head.

"This is the first time I have had the pleasure of seeing you." She said. "So I will give you a choice. Evacuate the school and let us destroy it to give you girls a day longer of living or you can try to save your school. But I will warn you: I will not have mercy on any man woman or child in this filthy place."

The winx all looked at me and the choices crossed my mind. I opened my mouth to say something but the girl cut me off.

"Took to long." She laughed and nodded to the other girl controlling the animal. The creature roared and ran around the courtyard scaring students and picking a few up with its slimy, purple tentacles.

That's it. The battle has begun.

I flew up to the girl and the winx surrounded her with me. We each began firing spells at her but she blocked all of them easily. Stella fired a spell at the witch and she blocked it but I noticed that she was looking at the other witch the entire time. Some students were trying to help and fire spells at the creature and the witch and it was making a difference, but it also made the monster angry. I flew down to help the students and distract the witch. And it was good timing too because the witch shot a fatal spell at a young fairy. I blocked it for her but the force knocked me to the ground. I hit my head and groaned. The witch laughed and balls of energy burst from her hands as she approached me.

"I have waited a long time to kill you, Bloom." She grinned.

I looked to the winx who still fought the other girl. The girl was fighting offense now but I saw her notice me for a moment and her smile dropped as she looked to the witch in front of me. And that distracted her long enough for Stella and Musa to get a few hits. She was getting weak. Now we can maybe win this. Or at least they can. The witch before me finally fired but Flora suddenly appeared and reflected it. She smiled at me and helped me up but then collapsed again.

"Flora!" I yelled and caught her.

"I'm still weak." She breathed and the witch appeared again. She frowned and another enegy ball came from her hand.

"This time i wont miss." The witch snarled and I looked at the winx.

It all happened in a flash. The girls all fired at the witch they surrounded. The witch flew up and away from them. Then the other witch let her spell come toward me quickly. And I thought it was the end so I put my arms up in attempt to block myself from the blow but a shout made me look up. The witch escaped the winx and came flying toward me. What? She suddenly flew in front of me and cried out in pain when the spell hit her instead of me. The force of the spell shot her back and she tumbled away from me. Her mask fell off and she finally stopped tumbling with her back facing me. My eyes widened and the other witch didnt know what to do so she flew away. The girls flew down to me, speachless.

"She- she saved me." I said and we ran to her.

Her fallen mask covered her hair but the wind blew it off and I gasped. It was fiery red. Like mine. I ran faster and knelled to the groundbeside her. I flipped her over and saw the face of my sister. Lilly.

"Lilly." The girls gasped.

I paniced and shook her. "Lilly.  Lilly!. LILLY!"

I shook her harder and pressed my ear to her heart. But I didnt hear anything. No heartbeat. No breath. I cried and buried my face in her neck. I pulled her onto my lap and cried. The girls kneeled beside me and cried with me. After a few minutes all the faries of Alfea were surrounding us. Miss Faragonda pushed through and gasped.

"What happened?" She asked.

"She saved me." I sobbed. "She saved me and now she's dead."
