When I arrived back at he castle with my family I felt like that trip was useless. I was currently sitting at my dresser with Bloom braiding my hair. It was our parents anniversary and I was in a green gown with my tiara on my red hair.
"You look beautiful." Bloom said and I frowned.
"I don't feel beautiful." I told her. "I feel like I'm disappointing everyone in the family. Mathew too. Something's wrong."
"It'll pass." She said. "A bunch of princesses are coming tonight so be sure to keep a smile on and show them that even though you are twice the princess that will ever be."
She smiled at me before leaving. I stare at the girl in the mirror. I sighed and stood up, going to the balcony. Everything felt wrong. I looked across my kingdom. There were portals opening all over the courtyard with people stepping out in their party clothes. I felt so trapped. I felt like people were missing. Never mind. It's probably nothing. I closed my eyes.
You can do this Lilly.
I straightened my tiara before sliding my feet into my shoes that resembled slippers. I then ran down the stairs. I lifted my dress as I ran, hoping not to trip on it. When I arrived at the ball I slowed down. I brushed at my dress and walked in. I tried to be as graceful as possible, knowing that groups of princesses were watching me, waiting for me to make a mistake. I made my way over to Bloom where she was staring at something.
"Bloom." I waved, snapping her out I her trance. "What are you staring at?"
"Prince Sky." She sighed. "He is gorgeous isn't he?"
I looked at the handsome boy across the ballroom. he had long blonde hair and seemed very muscular.
"I guess." I said and she smiled, not paying any attention to me.
Balls are fun. But not when you have no friends. I was having déjà voo. I sighed and walked out from the party to the courtyard. I walked to the gazebo and ran my fingers along the wood, paying attention to the familiar place. I know I've lived in the palace all my life but the feeling I got from being in the gazebo made me feel like a title wave of emotion was hitting me.
I sighed and sat down. I wanted to remember. I wanted to be able to remember but I couldn't. My life was turning upside down and I couldn't stop it.
"Princess." A voice said and I looked behind me. Prince Sky was standing there, looking handsome as ever. "It is cold tonight. May I escort you back to the ballroom."
"Of course." I said and he smiled.
We walked into the ballroom and I smiled at him before seeing Bloom and Daphne talking. I began to walk to them, passing a group of girls in the process.
"Look, it's the youngest princess." I heard one whisper.
"How is she even a princess?" One asked.
"She isn't even pretty."
"I heard Prince Sky likes her."
"I thought Princess Bloom likes him."
I frowned and tried to hold my tears in. So this is how people think of me. I sniffled and walked over to Bloom. We began a conversation about our dresses. Then a new dance was beginning. Suddenly someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and Prince Sky was standing there. He smiled at me.
"Lilly. Would you like to dance?" He asked.
"Um. Sure." I said and took his hand. A few gasps erupted from the crowd and I felt everyone's eyes on us.
We walked to the center of the dance floor where he took my waist in his hands. I looked around. The groups of Princesses were glaring and gawking at me. I frowned and looked for Bloom. She had a scowl on her face. Suddenly she looked down and I knew that her heart was hurting. I looked down.
The music started and I looked up. I backed away from him and the other pairs began to dance.
"Lilly?" He asked.
"I..I..." I stuttered and Bloom looked up. Her eyes were glossy. The Princesses were now smirking. I shook my head. "I'm sorry."
I then lifted my dress and ran from the ballroom. I ran to the stables and finally stopped next to Rose. She huffe in the night air. I sat on a pile of hay and breathed heavily. WHAT IS HAPPENING?! I began to feel the tears coming. I wiped my eyes with my sleeve and sniffled. I took my hair out of the braid and let it fall to my sides. I refuse Togo back to that party. Who knew people could be so mean and rude?
I searched for something to do and, after combing Rose's hair five times, I spotted something in an old, unused stable. A bow. I rolled my eyes at the ancient weapon. I reached for it and smiled. It had a carving of a girl, whose head was glowing, on it. I tossed the bow back to where I found it and decided to just sit here. I would go and visit my friends, at Alfea or on their planets, but I don't have any friends. Ugh. Right now I really hate my life.
