You Heal Me

Chapter 5

Out of a bunch of scrap metal and wires, I had managed to create a crude but effective energon detector. And of course it was mobile. It took me a week or two though. I had one in my vehicle form similar to Cliffjumper's but I didn't want to drive everywhere. I've been exploring more of my forest and I came across this rocky clearing with a cave in an outcrop. I had noticed my energon detector going off but it was getting dark so I decided to come back the next day. And so here I am.

It's about midday actually. I got lost but I retraced my steps and went in the right direction once I figured out where I got lost. Once I got there, however, I noticed Arcee and Bulkhead coming out of the cave. I freeze. I haven't gotten over the fact that I basically betrayed them by returning Megatron to life. I haven't seen Megatron since then... I miss my meetings with him and I don't know why he hasn't returned...

I saw Miko run in and I almost facepalm. Soon, Bulkhead followed Miko and a minute later, Jack and Arcee go in. I wait another minute and was about to go to the cave but I heard jet engines. It was Megatron and Starscream. I wait as they go in and wait another minute before sneaking in after them. I follow from a distance behind them and watch Megatron closely. He and Starscream are talking but I'm too far away to hear what they say. Suddenly, Megatron, punches through the wall and pulls out a chunk of energon. There is energon here! My detector works!

Megatron and Starscream continue on until they reach a room within the cave with some mining equipment in it. I watch as Megatron tells Starscream that he's hit rock bottom. I realize that Megatron dragged Starscream here to execute him. Before Megatron can shoot Starscream though, Arcee and Jack walk into the line of sight of Megatron and Starscream. Megatron starts shooting at them instead and Starscream uses this to escape.

Megatron notices and he starts shooting at Starscream. Arcee uses this to shoot at Megatron's arm and he shoots at the ceiling instead. I notice the ceiling start to come down and the floor beneath Jack and Arcee start to sink.  Megatron is about to be hit by a giant rock and I run across and try to knock him out from underneath it. It doesn't work... Why did I think this was a good idea...? Now both me and Megatron are stuck beneath the rock with me on top of him. He was laying on his back.

"Well, this is awkward", I say quietly. Megatron looks surprised to see me.

"What are you doing here?",  he asks.

"I created an energon detector. This is actually not too far from ou- the clearing we met at", I say softly. Megatron looks surprised.

"You didn't go back to the Autobots?", he asks.

I try to shake my head with didn't work very well so I spoke instead. "No. Not after I felt like I betrayed the Autobots."

Megatron hardens his gaze. "You didn't betray them!", he growls. I tense up but let out a cry of pain. He softens his voice. "I brought myself back. You didn't."

"But I helped you", I whisper. Megatron was about to say something else but we heard drilling close by.

I listen as I couldn't see anything except for Megatron. He turns his head to what I'm guessing is a hole.

I faintly hear Jack gasp and Megatron talks, menace filling his voice.

"I suppose helping those less fortunate is out of the question", he says. There's a pause before he speaks again. "If it is, you might as well use your drill to finish me. I guarantee you will never have a better chance than right now."

I whack Megatron softly but it still let off a small clang.

"Well? what are you waiting for? Think of the glory. Seize the day. Optimus would", Megatron says.
