Cynthia and I arrive at the church just in time for the wedding. I can hear the priest talking from outside.
"I suppose we are a bit late, but let's head in." Cynthia says, taking my hand and leading me gently up the steps. My stomach turns with each passing second.
"Cynthia, I'm scared." I say, my knees feeling weak. She looks at me and laughs.
"Don't be, darling. It's going to be a lovely marriage."
I look down and then up again with a smile plastered on my face.
"You're right. This will be a good wedding." I don't believe my words, but they make me feel better as I walk into the the church with Cynthia.
"Paul's already up there." John says, looking at me up and down. His eyes soften a little. Perhaps I'm starting to grow on him.
"I'll see you up there Carol. You look stunning." Ringo says, as he walks up the aisle with a woman with black hair. She must be Maureen.
"George, I'm scared." I say, as George is the one who is going to lead me down the aisle.
"Don't be. You're beautiful - not just today either." George says, his rough accent calming me.
"That's very nice to say." I smile slightly. George takes my arm and wraps around his.
"Get used to it."
I look at George as he hides my face with the veil on my head, and starts to walk down the aisle. Cameras flash me and George. George is smiling as I am thankful my face is covered. I walk up to Paul, George letting me go and sitting in the front next to Ringo.
The priest starts to talk as Paul whispers.
"Carol, you're absolutely beautiful."
I smile as he lifts up my veil, my picture being taken even more now. I wince a little bit and Paul rubs my arm slightly to calm me. I better get used to this.
Paul looks into my eyes and I look back.
"I can't seem to think you want to be married to me." Paul looks down a little bit before facing me again.
I laugh slightly. "Well, if I'm honest, you did kinda tell me to marry you."
Paul laughs and holds my hand. "I'm sorry."
"You should be." I smile and tease Paul as he chuckles a little bit. He holds my hand a little tighter with every passing second.
Paul smiles and as instructed says his vows. He's nervous, and I giggle as I say mine.
"You may kiss the bride." The priest says, and I smile as Paul pulls me close and kisses me very softly. I could get used to this.
"Save that for later you two! We got a party!" John says as everyone else hollers. I part lips with Paul as I look into his eyes and giggle as he chuckles.
"Let's go, Mrs. McCartney."
I smile and scan the crowd quickly for my mother, but I notice she's not there. I wonder if she was able to get out of the hospital in time.
Paul holds my hand as we walk out, cameras flashing and reporters hollering. I suppose I should get used to this life. Of course, this is how Paul lives.
"Alright, let's head to the party." Paul says as we enter the limo. Our section is divided from the driver and Paul knocks on the screen for a laugh. I smile as I close the door, the car starting to move. Paul sits next to me and rubs my hand.
"Carol, you look absolutely beautiful." Paul says, looking at me as I smile.
"Thank you. It seems everyone has been telling me that."
