"Shit!"
Someone's yelling wakes me up quickly and I open my eyes to pure darkness.
"What's going on?"
"Quiet, Carol." Paul says, his voice right beside me. I do as he says and I feel his body brush past mine to figure out what's going on. I decide to stand up too in case something dangerous has happened.
"What the hell?" John says, hiss voice inches from mine. It's too dark in the morning to see him and I feel his presence pass me towards the others. I decide follow his trail, feeling the walls around me.
"Who the hell did this?" John says, as I assume we've found the others. I hear Julian crying into Cynthia's arms.
"No one, John. Sit down - I'm sure Brian is on top of it." Ringo says, as I try to look around. I hear John sit down nearby and I sit down near a seat next to me. I turn to my side and reach out my hand, feeling something. I pull my hand away slightly.
"Hello? Who is it?" I ask. They take my hand back and hold it onto their chest where I touched previously.
"Guess."
I feel my hand shake slightly underneath his grip and I look away bashfully. "George, you're not funny. What going on?" I ask, causing George to laugh and let go of my hand.
"I think the power went out. There was a pretty bad snowstorm on the way."
I breathe a little softer now and look around for Paul. I can't see anything or anybody, so I decide to just continue whispering to George for comfort.
"But I don't know. These things take forever to start up again and I bet Brian is upset."
I turn to George and smile, although I know he can't see it.
"He's just cares about you guys. I'm sure he means the best." I say. George places one of his hands on my chair.
"I know - he's been through it all with us."
I smile a bit and look down to my shoes. I can slightly see them under all the darkness.
"I don't like seeing you with him."
I look up at George quickly and I raise an eyebrow.
'Wha-"
George kisses my me softly and puts his fingers in my hair. I kiss him back, taken a back and slightly confused. He pulls me closer, his body almost on mine as I move away slightly. This can't be the right thing to do at all.
I part lips with him and silently stare at what little I can see of him.
"Carol, I know you're with Paul and all but...I don't know why you're always on my mind..." George looks away from me and closes his eyes.
"I-"
"Carol? Where are you?"
I turn my head to the voice calling me and I feel George laugh slightly.
"Whenever Paul calls, it's you who answers." George smiles a bit and I look into his eyes. "You love him, I know. I'll deal with this on my own."
"George, come on..." I say, trying to remind him that we already agreed to end whatever 'this' is.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I turn around slightly. "Paul?"
"Glad I found you." Paul tries to look at who's next to me. "Who's there?"
"George." He says, voice quiet and solemn.
I don't know why he had to go and make things so complicated...
