"Morning."
I walk downstairs into the kitchen in Paul's shirt. Paul turns his attention to me as I yawn.
"Morning. We're leaving very soon, so please go get ready." Paul turns back to his cup of tea, stirring it as he fixes his shirt sleeves.
I nod and head back upstairs, restless from yesterday and frustrated at John. Even if he is in the right, I wish he wouldn't bother Paul and I anymore.
I walk into the bedroom and grab a plum coloured dress. Its shorter than I would normally wear, but I think its appropriate. I put my hair up into a ponytail and check my face in the mirror. I pucker my lips and laugh a little.
"I'll be in the car." Paul announces from the hall, and I hear the door open. I quickly run downstairs, slip on my shoes and a coat.
I open the door, and look at the snow outside before heading into the passenger's seat of Paul's car. I hope today goes well.
"Sorry." I say. I put my seatbelt on as Paul starts the car.
He reverses out, looking around and begins to drive. I look out the window as he drives around country roads. I wonder if Paul is upset.
"What's wrong?" I ask. Paul coughs a bit before responding.
"I'm trying to focus on driving, Carol."
I look at Paul and laugh.
"Excuse me?" I say, causing Paul to look at me.
"Did I stutter?" Paul says, and I blink a few times. Is Paul really going to start something?
"Forget I asked." I say, turning my attention back to the road and the snow.
----
"Let's get into the studio." Paul doesn't even stop to say hello as he rushes into the booth. Ringo follows him as George eyes me. I smile a bit as he chuckles.
"What's with him?"
"I don't know. He's in a sour mood." I urge George to go into the booth as he smiles.
"I've been invited to a party tonight and I need a date."
"George." I say, sternly.
"As a friend, of course." He smiles a bit more as I look away.
"I'll let you know. Hurry up." I begin to laugh as George leaves quickly. I decide to sit in a chair across the window to the studio. Looking inside, I spot Paul. He's on his bass already, and isn't talking to George or Ringo. I can't help but wonder where John is.
"Alright boys, let's get started. This record has to be out soon as your film is going to help promote sales." Brian speaks into a microphone for the boys to hear inside. I can't hear anything going on because I don't have a headset on. I decide to go for a walk outside.
I exit the building, welcoming the cold air as I fix my hair. I take a look around and spot a record store not too far from here. As I make my way towards the shop, a hand holds my arm. I quickly turn around - ready to scream - and see John in a large coat and hat to cover his face. Why is he out here?
"John-"
"Shut up. Just follow me, would ya? We have to fix this problem." John stares at me and I hesitate. I don't want to be with him alone.
"What problem?" I ask, shoving his hand away from my arm.
"Don't play coy, Carol. Paul is upset. We have to fix this - now." I eye John as he speaks. Does he really want to help Paul?
