Paul starts the car again as John hands me some lillies.
"These are alright?" John asks, looking at me and smirking. He thinks he is going to win this little game. I'm going to make sure he loses.
"Yes, they're beautiful." I say, smelling them and smiling. I've always loved flowers.
"Thank you John."
John grins and takes them back. "Good 'cause they're my gift to your mum."
Paul hits John and snickers. "With my money, I don't think so mate."
I laugh a little and look out the window, looking at the snow falling. I seem to forget that it's winter, and laugh a bit, remembering that my wedding is tomorrow. I really have no idea what's going to happen. I rub my hands together, and laugh, fogging up the window so I draw two smiley faces.
"Paulie, we've got an artist." John says, startling me as I turn to look at him. Paul stops the car at a hospital, and he looks at me from the other side of the window.
He draws a heart between the two faces and smiles at me. I blush and laugh, walking out. Paul better stop acting this way. I might fall a little harder for him.
"I don't recall drawing that heart." I say, teasing Paul.
"Well, I did." Paul says, wrapping his scarf around my neck as I seem to have forgotten one.
"Thank-"
"No more thank you's." Paul says, taking my hand and walking inside. John follows behind us.
I hold onto Paul's hand, smiling as the snowflakes land on my hair. This has to be the coldest day of the year so far.
I enter the hospital, as Paul and John wear moustaches and hats. It must be such a bother to always have to wear disguises.
"Which room is Ms. Simons?" John asks the head counter and the young man replies with 307.
"Thank you." John says, leading us to an elevator.
We all enter into it, awkwardly playing with our hands as the elevator moves up. John begins to whistle. When the door opens, we all step out and look for 307. Paul spots the room.
"We're here." Paul says, looking at me. John looks at us and grins, opening the door.
As we enter, I hear the radio on, playing songs by The Temptations and Buddy Holly. I turn the corner to see my mom laying in bed, looking at me.
"Carol?" She asks, and she sits up, motioning for me to hug her. I forget that Paul and John are there, and I run into her arms. I hug her tightly and pull away after a few minutes.
"Mom, how are-"
"How am I? I don't know, I was just dragged to a new, fancy hospital without hearing from my beloved daughter for days." She says, crossing her arms. As much as I missed her, I did not miss her nagging.
"Mom, aren't you happy I'm here now?" I say, looking at her as she scowls, and I hear Paul and John laughing behind me.
"That's questionable." She says, "Where are my flowers?"
John quickly hands her the lillies, and she takes them, smelling them and smiling.
"Who are these two handsome men?" She asks, and they take off their disguises.
"This is John Lennon and-"
"John Lennon? Mr. John Lennon?" My mom says, grinning. I look at my mom surprised to see she knows him as she laughs.
