Short Chapter - Good luck with this one.

Beep, beep.
Loud machines beeped, making the sound bounce off the walls. I slowly opened my eyes, allowing them to adjust to the bright lights. I didn't know where I was.
Beep, beep.
I groaned and stretched out noting that my legs were being restricted by a thin white sheet.
Beep, beep, beep.
I could feel my heart beating faster and harder in my chest. Suddenly a hand wrapped around my wrist and squeezed.
"Hayden, Hayden, it's alright. I'm here," Colson's voice made me relax. I rubbed my forehead and looked around the small room. There were a few paintings hanging up on the wall and a light brown bedside table.
"What happened? How did I get here?" He scooted closer to me, running his hand down my cheek.
"We were talking and you passed out... I rushed you to the hospital but they said it was just your blood pressure," I nodded and sat up against the pillows. Colson handed me the cold bottle of water sitting on the food tray near the end of my bed and smiled softly.
"Does anyone else know I'm here?" He shook his head. Good. That was the last thing I needed right now.
"Haydence?" The doctor called as he walked in. Both Colson and I looked up at him as he flipped the pages on his clipboard. "How are you feeling?"
"Light-headed, drowsy, nauseated..." I felt Colson's warm lips press against my hand.
"Well those are all effects of under eating. They are also small factors which led to you being hospitalized. The main factor is stress and that's not good for you or the baby," I nodded slowly.
"Under eating, exactly what her doctor told her to stay away from," Colson grumbled.
"I'm sorry I'm still struggling to keep all my food down, damn," I hissed back at him. The doctor raised his eyebrows at us before sighing.
"You've seen a doctor about your eating habits before?" I nodded, watching him as he scribbled down notes on the fresh sheet of paper.
"She recommended I eat healthier foods so I wouldn't get sick every half hour and it worked at first but after a while the sickness came back," I saw Colson shake his head from the corner of my eye.
"Well most of your tests came back negative, we're just waiting on a few more results. And with the information you just gave me I think we're gonna take some more blood samples and keep you until at least tomorrow," Colson and I both sighed but nodded.
"H-How's the baby?" I was scared to ask. What if they said something was wrong? Or that something would be wrong?
"From what we've seen, the baby is fine," I smiled up at the doctor, watching him as he walked out of the room and closed the door softly.
My phone buzzed on the table beside the bed. Colson grabbed it and handed it to me. I swiped the screen and scrolled through all of my notifications; a few from Instagram, about 12 from Twitter, 5 Missed Calls and 9 unread messages.
"I feel sick," I groaned.
"It's probably because you haven't been eating," Colson grumbled. He stood and walked to the other side of the small room.
"I already told you I was sick, Colson," I locked my phone and set it back down on the table.
"But it was so convenient that you left out the part about not eating, right?" He shouted.
"I have been eating! I've been under eating! Maybe you should listen and understand things," We both breathed heavily. I sank down on the bed and rubbed my head, reaching for the water bottle and taking a small sip. "This arguing is making my head hurt."
"I'm gonna go get a drink from the vending machine... Do you want something?" I shook my head. Without saying a word, Colson pulled the door open and walked out.

The next time I woke up it was late and I had stomach pains. I groaned and turned over, squeezing my eyes shut.
"Ah!" I cried out. I felt Colson's hands resting on my side.
"Hayden?" I dug my nails into the sheets. I could feel the tears beginning to pour from my eyes.
"Colson! Help me! It-it hurts!" His hands disappeared from my sides and I felt a sudden jolt of cold air. A few moments later a doctor and a few nurses rushed inside the room. I had no idea what they were saying, I didn't care what they were saying. I just knew that something was wrong.
"Colson?" I called out. No reply. "Colson!" I screamed in pain.
"Hayden!" His voice was muffled and that's when I knew that he wasn't in the room with me anymore. The last noises I heard were the mumblings of the nurses and beeping of the machines in the room and then my vision went black.
Again.

I felt weird. Uncomfortable. Empty. It felt like something was missing. I cracked my eyes open and realized that I wasn't in the same room I had been in a while ago.
The walls were a calming green color with blue stripes that ran halfway up the wall. I had a breathing tube in my nose and a heart monitor clamped onto my index finger. A cold breeze flowed through the room due to the open window. I could tell it was late because the streets were quiet and the stars were shining bright.
I groaned and turned my head to the other side. Colson sat in a black chair, his head buried into the sheets beside my arm.
"Colson?" I croaked. He sat up and his eyes were red and puffy. He only stared out the window, shaking his head continuously and slowly. "Colson?" I croaked again. I had a feeling about what was happening, but I didn't want to believe it. "Colson look at me." I demanded. He turned his head slowly, our eyes meeting with each other and that's when I knew that my feeling was right.
I had lost my baby.
