(warning: I'm really bad at doing graphics and such, so I'd just like to apologize beforehand.)
"So, how is it going?" Baldwin asked, taking a seat next to me with a bowl of cereal in his one hand and a bowl full of fruit on the other. "Wait, did you reach—"
"No," I cut him off. "I mean I didn't even try to find her but...I don't know I mean...you know..." I tried to put my thoughts into words but realized I failed completely when I saw his facial expression — which was a mixture of confusion and annoyance.
"If I were you, I'd definitely try my best to reach out to her!" He nudged my ribs while giving me that look.
"You would actually do that?" I wondered, folding my arms in front of my chest.
"Well no, I mean I would do it if I were actually you," he corrected himself while adjusting his glasses. "With your face and stuff..."
I rolled my eyes at him as I squeezed his shoulder lightly. "I'll do it."
"Yes, come on! Are we going to stalk her on Instagram?" he emphasized the word with an italian accent and I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud.
"First of all, we won't stalk her," I put my index finger up high to make a point. "We will just check out her page and see what she's up to, you know?"
"Sure," he scoffed. "Be honest, how excited are you? Or perhaps how nervous are you? I mean you haven't seen her in so long. On a scale from one to—"
"I'm not nervous," I scoffed this time although I was nervous as hell. My palms were sweating like crazy and my heart was beating out of its socket. I actually thought that I would pass out without even getting the chance to stalk her on social media.
"Sure," he repeated, putting his now empty bowl aside.
I took a deep breath in before I re-downloaded the Instagram app after all these months of being absent on it. I just couldn't bear to see all those happy couples and happy people in general who were trying to show off how great their lives were while I was a miserable wreck. "It's downloading," I informed.
"Hurry up, I really want to see her."
So do I. "Be patient." I tapped my right foot against the wooden floor while taking another deep and long breath in as this weird, tingling feeling in the pit of my stomach appeared again. It was a feeling I haven't felt in so long and that's why it felt so odd.
"Log in, log in, log in!" Baldwin pressed his elbow into my sides while moving too close to me to get a glimpse at my phone screen, which caused me to jerk away.
"Dude, wait a second," I sighed, pushing myself away from him for a brief moment to get a chance to type my username and password correctly.
