Within The Lights. (Series)

Chapter 21 - Leave Me Alone.

I stepped off the plane and into the terminal, Cody walking beside me in silence.

Light filled my eyes and I was blinded for a second. I rubbed my eyes and they settled to the light.

"Macy!" Ryan smiled, hugging me.

I didn't even bother to force a smile back. I looked over my shoulder at Cody. He was sitting on a chair, Alli next to him. He wasn't smiling, either. Alli was talking to him, but he wasn't even making an effort. He looked over at me and we stared at each other for a second, but he broke away and stood up, walking over to where his mom was.

 "Macy, are you okay?" Ryan asked.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine." I muttered.

"Why aren't you-"

"Can we just go? Please?" I asked, cutting him off.

"Uh... Okay, I guess. You don't want to-"

"No. I want to leave. Now."

"Alright. Let's go then." He raised an eyebrow.

"Thank you." I breathed. I looked over my shoulder at Cody. He looked at me, shook his head, and walked the other way down the hall.

"Here we are. Home, sweet home." Ryan said, throwing my bag down on the ground.

"Great. Yay. I'm going to my room." I muttered.

"Macy!" He called after me.

I slammed the door shut and took out my phone, dialing Taylor's number and holding it up to my ear.

Hello?

"Hey, Taylor."

What's up? And why am I seeing pictures all over the internet of "Cady's break-up"?

"You're seeing what!?"

Go look. They're posted on J-14's twitter page.

"I'll call you back, Taylor." I said, hanging up and opening twitter.

@J14Mag: It looks like "Cady" is  on the rocks!

There was a picture attached of me and Cody at the airport earlier, not talking, not walking together, not even looking at each other.

Perfect.

I threw my phone across the room, not caring about breaking the screen, and pulled my knees up to my chest, burying my head in them.

"Macy?" Ryan asked softly from the door.

"Go away." I said, but it was barely audible through my jeans.

"Macy, move over so I can open the door."

"No."

He turned the handle and pushed the door open. I slid along the floor and he stepped in.

"Are you okay?" He asked, kneeling next to me.

"No." I repeated in the same tone.

"What happened?"

"Go away."

"Macy."

"No."

"I heard you and Cody broke up." He said. Way to jump right into it, Ry.

"I don't know."

"You don't know?"

"No. I don't."
