"Got any threes?"
Greyson looked at his cards and shook his head. "Go fish."
I grabbed a card from the pile.
"Got any sevens?" he asked.
"Go fish."
He reached for a card, then put his cards down and looked at me.
"Hey, you did have a five!" I exclaimed, looking at the hand on the table.
"Why do you like him?" he asked.
"Who, Cody?" I sounded completely dumbfounded and mentally cursed myself for being such an idiot. Obviously he meant Cody.
"Yeah, Cody. Why do you like him?"
"Because he's Cody. He's just... Funny, and sweet, why are you asking me this?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"I don't know, I'm curious." he shrugged.
I laughed and set my hand down on the table. "Do you think he likes me?" I blurted out.
He didn't look like he cared much that I asked. "Maybe." he said, without putting any thought into the answer.
"And maybe I'm going to push you into a sea of fans if you don't put any effort into this conversation. You know I hate that." I shot at him.
He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. "Sorry. Just having a rough day."
"Why? What's up?" I asked.
"Nothing." he said, with an obviously forced laugh. "It's nothing."
I raised my eyebrows but didn't pry. I knew how much Greyson hates it when people ask him things he doesn't want to answer.
After a while of silence, he opened his mouth to say something, but Cody walking in and sitting at the table interrupted him.
Cody pulled out a chair and sat down, crossing his arms on the table.
"Hey Codes." I said.
"Hey. Whatcha guys up to?" he asked.
"Playing go fish." Greyson answered, looking down at the table and playing with a card in his hands.
"Well stop it. I'm bored and I want something to do." he said.
"Why don't you go talk to Jordan?" I suggested.
"He's gone back to the hotel already." Cody sighed. "It took me forever to find you guys, and Matt says we'll be here for at least another hour."
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Almost 11."
"Don't you guys have a show tomorrow night? Why would Matt keep you up past midnight?" I raised my eyebrows at him. "Isn't not enough sleep a bad thing?"
"Yeah, you tell Matt that. He told me to go with Jordan, but I said no because I didn't want to be alone with him, you know how he gets sometimes, and I couldn't find you two to see if you wanted to come with me," he said, eyeing us both quickly before continuing, "So I told Matt I wanted to stay. Besides, he said he'd only be 20 minutes."
"And how long ago was that?" I laughed a little at Cody's stupidity.
"Like, 3 hours ago." Cody muttered.
"Isn't your dad still here?" Greyson asked.
Cody shook his head. "He left with Alli and Jordan."
"And Danny?"
"Helping Matt clean up."
"Okay, so how about instead of talking about how there's nothing to do, we get up off our butts and actually find something to do." Greyson spoke for the first time in the entire conversation.
