Within The Lights. (Series)

Chapter 2 - Rylex.

"Bye, Mace."

"Bye, Megan." I said, hugging her.

"I just got my Macy back, and now she's leaving again." She sighed over-dramatically.

i rolled my eyes and Michael walked over. "Bye, Macy."

"Bye, Michael.' I laughed.

He messed up my hair and i swatted his hand away, making him smile at me.

I looked over to where Ryan was, sitting silently on his seat beside Holly and my dad.

I walked over and sat beside Ryan.

"You okay?" I asked.

He shrugged.

"Is this about Alex? What were you two fighting over, anyway?"

He sighed and shook his head. "Nothing."

"Really? Because you smashed a vase." I raised an eyebrow.

"I just asked her if she wanted to go to the movies or something and we got into an argument over weather a long-distance relationship would work. It's nothing."

"That's not nothing!" I yelled at him, standing up and towering over him. "You have to do something! Chase after your girl!"

"It's too late, Macy. Our flight leaves in..." He checked his watch, "15 minutes."

"It's never too late! Call her! Text her! Something!"

"It's over." He sighed.

"Don't jump to conclusions, Ryan. I've always hated that about you." A voice made us both jump and look over Ryan's shoulder.

"Alex!" He whispered, standing up and walking around to the back of the bench.

"Hey." She smiled.

"I thought..." He started.

"Yeah, I know. I shouldn't have stormed off like that. I realised that I... I really like you, Ryan. And I'm not gonna let a little distance get in the way of that." She said.

Ryan took her face in his hands and kissed her right in the middle of the airport.

"Aww!" I laughed.

They broke apart, and I'm surprised that Ryan's face didn't break from smiling that big.

"I've always wanted to do that." He laughed.

Alex blushed and looked away.

"Great, wonderfrul couple, now the plane leaves in 2 minutes, let's go." I told Ryan.

He kissed Alex one more time on the cheek before grabbing his bags and running after me down the hall towards the terminal.

"Bye, guys!" Hollie called after us.

I looked over my shoulder and waved goodbye to all of them.

I really needed to come home more often.

"So, when we get back are you gonna go back to your old Macy-like ways?" Ryan asked.

"No way. I'm done with boys. Too much work and pain." I laughed.

"Good. Maybe you can focus on education or something. I mean, you're about past 12th grade. You can go to college or somehing."

"Maybe I can follow you to college. I mean, we both graduate in the same year." I smirked at him.

"Hey, it's not my fault you're smarter than me." He winked.

"Whatever. I probably won't even go to college until I'm 19. I don't want it to be like high school all over again." I laughed. "If i go at all. maybe I'll just live off your money."

"Hey, you got the brains, I think i deserve a career." He pushed me on the shoulder jokingly.

"This is, like, the 10th plane ride I've been on in a year. I fly WAY too often." I laughed.

"You fly more than I do." He nodded.

"Book a tour in some foreign country." I raised an eyebrow.

"It's not that easy."

"It can't be that difficult. I mean, there's almost 200 countries in the world, you think one of them would take you?"

He shrugged. "I guess I'm not talented enough for foreigners."

I laughed. "I guess not."

He scoffed.

"Well, you said it!" I laughed.

"You were supposed to argue and say, 'Oh no, ryan, you're so very talented I'm surprised countries aren't fighting over you!'"

I rolled my eyes and sat back in my seat, waiting for this damn plane ride to be over so I can get back to LA.
