So Listen - Prologue

"Macy, wait!"

"What?"

"Just listen to me."

"There's nothing you can say, Cody. Leave it alone."

"I told you i would wait for you."

"Yes, through a text. Did you really think I'd get back together with you over a text message?"

"Come on, Mace."

"No. I thought we were done when-"

"I'm fully aware of what happened."

"Then leave it alone."

"Why won't you listen to me?"

"Because! Don't you think we've all been hurt enough? Not just me and you, Cody. You know what he's like."

"He has nothing to do with this."

"He has everything to do with this! He's the reason we broke up in the first place!"

"Why are you so hung up on him? Do you not see me standing right in front of you?"

"Sadly."

He sighed, licking his lips and running a hand through his hair.

I looked up when i felt a drop on my nose and noticed the clouds forming.

"We'd better get out of the rain." I muttered.

"Not until we settle this." He argued, crossing his arms.

"THERE'S NOTHING TO SETTLE!" I screamed.

"Are you still in love with him?" He asked.

"What the hell, Cody!?"

"Are you?" he repeated.

"Is that what this whole thing is about?" I scoffed.

"You haven't answered the question."

"I don't feel the need to."

"Was that the only reason you came to the concert tonight? To see him?"

"Was I the only reason you did a concert here?" I shot back.

"You know you're not the most relevant thing in my life. I actually have a career. And fans."

"If I'm not the most relevant thing to you then why are we standing on a street in Oklahoma City at midnight in the pouring rain?" I asked.

"Because i need to know! I need to figure this out."

"Figure what out?" 

"Was the only reason you dated me to make him jealous?" he asked.

I was a little shocked by that question. "No, why would it be?"

"Because you cheated on me with him. Twice."

"So that means I'm in love with him?"

"Well it sure doesn't mean you hate him."

"Cody, I dated you because i loved you."

"But you love him, too."

"I never said that."

"It was kind of implied when you made out with him."
