 “Where are we?”

“Somewhere between LA and New York.”

“That really narrows it down.”

“There's a map right over there, or we can find someone to give us directions, or-”

“Face it, Greyson, we're lost.”

“We're not lost, we just... Aren't sure where exactly we are at the moment.”

“We were on that train for an hour. We could be anywhere by now.”

“At least we're together.”

“That's so reassuring. I'm going up.”

“Wait, Macy! We have to find someone to tell us where we are!”

“We can find someone up there.

“No, I-”

I didn't give him a chance to finish his sentence before I took off up the stairs to the streets above me.

I got to the top and looked around. It was still dark out, and, checking my phone, i saw it was only 4:23AM. I saw one person on a bench across the street from me and walked over to them.

“Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?” I asked.

The woman looked up from her book and smiled to me. “You're in Fontana, California.”

“Thank you so much.” I said gratefully, turning back to the street just in time to see Greyson emerging from the subway. He looked around, then I saw him curse, then I saw him notice notice me. He started to cross the street, and I turned and walked toward a fountain a little ways away.

I sat down and put my head in my hands and sighed heavily. My mom is going to kill me.

I heard someone sit down on the other side of the fountain and assumed it was Greyson.

After a while, he spoke up. “We're in Fontana.”

I didn't answer.

“There's no ride to LA until 5PM tonight. We should call someone to get us in a few hours.”

Again I didn't answer.

“So, you're just not going to talk to me?”

I nodded.

He sighed, and I heard him slide down the side of the fountain towards me. Then I felt something cold hit me in the head and i looked up in shock. His hand was covered in fountain water.

“Getting mad is going to get us anywhere.” he said.

“Clearly.” I spat.

He threw some more water at me.

“Knock it off!” I yelled at him.

Again with the water.

“I'm not in the mood, Greyson!”

He put his hand in the fountain, but I was faster and he was the one who got a face full of water.

We ended up getting in an all-out water fight. Then I stood up and started walking along the side of the fountain.

“Hey, look!” He called, pointing to the road. I squinted my eyes, trying to see what he was pointing at.

“I don't-” I started, but he'd already taken off to the street. “Greyson, wait up!”

I made it to him just in time to see where he was going with this.

“Come on, get in!”

“No. No, no! Not in a million years! No. I refuse.” I crossed my arms in defiance.
