"This is Stark Tower?" Amelie asked, standing on the top penthouse floor of the building. It overlooked the city perfectly, and was the tallest building in the city by far. The perfect location for Loki's plan.
"Yes." Loki walked around the penthouse, eying Stark's gadgets and fancy belongings with an impressed gaze, "So many materialistic people in this world..."
Amelie stood near the Tesseract with a nervous expression, watching as Dr. Selvig set it up. The Tesseract glowed brightly, its power so strong Amelie could feel it inside her own head.
"Put that earpiece inside your ear. I have a feeling things are going to be getting messy very soon." Loki instructed, smiling as Tony Stark himself flew into the penthouse in his Iron Man suit. Amelie did as she was told, keeping her gaze trained on Tony.
As he exited the beat up suit, Loki grinned, "Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity."
"Uh... actually I plan to threaten you." Tony shrugged, casually walking through the penthouse.
"You should have left your armor on for that." Loki chuckled, pointing the scepter at Tony briefly. Amelie furrowed her brows... what was Tony playing at?
"Yeah, well, it's seen a bit of mileage, and you've got the glow stick of destiny, so..." Tony walked down the stairs towards the bar, "Would you like a drink?"
"Stalling won't change anything." Loki flourished the scepter around with his mischievous grin.
"No, no, I'm threatening." Tony grabbed two glasses from a shelf, "No drink? You sure? I'm having one."
Loki turned away with an eye-roll, "The Chitauri are coming. Nothing will change that. What have I to fear?"
Amelie furrowed her brows. Chitauri? Who were they?
Did Loki not tell her everything?
"The Avengers." Tony said casually, pouring himself a drink, "It's what we call ourselves. We're sort of like a team. Earth's mightiest heroes and all that."
"I know. I've met them." Loki shrugged, quirking a brow at the Iron Man.
"Yeah." Iron Man laughed, "Let's do a little headcount here. You're brother, a demigod. A super-soldier, a living legend, who kind of lives up to the legend. A man with breathtaking anger management issues, a couple master assassins, and you. You managed to piss off every single one of them."
Loki grinned, "That was the plan."
"That's a horrible plan." Tony started, "Because when they come, and they are, they're coming for you."
"I have an army." Loki argued.
"We have a Hulk."
"Oh, I think the beast has run off..."
"You're missing the point, greenie." Tony approached the god, "There's no throne. There's no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but if we can't protect the earth, then you better be damn well sure we'll avenge it."
"How will your friends be able to fight me, when they're too busy fighting you?" Loki approached Tony, hitting him on the chest with the scepter. It simply clinked on the billionaire's chest, something metal inside of him keeping the spear from working.
"Performance issues?" Tony asked, a slight grin on his face.
Loki frowned, grabbing Tony around the neck. Amelie took a step back, covering her mouth with her hands. The god threw Tony across the room, where he slid on the floor with a thud.
