"JARVIS has run over 10 billion scenarios and algorithms. This last base is a myth, Cap. We got them all."
"No... if we got all the bases, then who sent the order to try and capture Bucky and Amelie?"
The girl in question was listening just outside the door, careful to not make a sound. She didn't want the others to know she was awake... or that she was listening.
"Could be some Ten Rings extremists still out there." Natasha offered, the shrug obvious in her voice.
"They don't have that kind of power. Not in America anymore."
"Then where is it? We've spent the last week or so taking the dream tour across Europe. We've destroyed bases. Turned in key personnel. There's no where else for them to hide." Tony argued, "Not that we could find."
There was a silence. Amie bit her lip, trying to remember something that could help.
"Barnes, you recall anything? Any strange hideouts?"
"No." The former Winter Soldier sighed, "They wiped me after every mission... I can't be 100% sure."
"There's got to be something we're missing." Amelie could hear Steve's footsteps echoing the floor, "Someone we're missing."
"Look, Cap, we all want to find something, to be one hundred percent sure that we did everything, but as far as we know... Hydra's gone. There's nothing left."
"We don't know that."
"Stark's right, Rogers. There's no evidence. No paper trail, or loose agent." Clint spoke up, "It's done."
Amelie, although she had no idea what exactly the team did while was back in D.C. she was certain Hydra wasn't dead. If those men were after them... it wasn't some extremist organization scrambling to gain back power and leverage. It was Hydra. As long as Strucker wasn't captured or dead... Hydra was alive.
"We're missing something."
Over the course of her life, Amelie had been to several Hydra bases and hideouts in Europe. As Strucker gathered equipment, followers, and power- she followed so he could experiment on her.
Then, Amelie froze.
She knew.
"It's Sokovia!" The teenager burst through the door, walking several steps into the room until she had everyone's attention, "Check Sokovia."
"How much of this did you hear?" Natasha asked, brows furrowed as she watched the girl head over to the map, using delicate fingers to zoom into the country.
"Enough." The girl walked with a slight limp- her foot redressed by Bruce and Dr. Cho. The wound was closed with a few stitches- she just had to be careful, "The last base is in Sokovia."
"How do you know?" Thor asked, dressed casually in normal clothing, his hair pulled back.
"I haven't even been there." Bucky furrowed his brow, his eyes unfocused as he searched his memories.
Amelie felt something tug in her chest. She looked at Bucky with guilty eyes, "You have."
The former assassin looked up, and then nodded shyly, "Oh."
"What?" Tony said through a mouthful of Lo Mein, "Did we miss something here?"
Steve gave an eye roll, having just stated the team was missing a key set of information.
