"Bring in the girl."They drugged her again. She was certain. Amelie was half awake, unable to move or speak as arms dragged her into the room. Her whole body shook like a chihuahua, her eyes rolling around her head like a doll.
She stopped in the middle of the room... or rather, the people dragging her did. Amie felt completely ill, sweaty and cold- all of her muscles sore and unable to cooperate.
"What happened?" She asked, panicked and afraid. Tears stained her pale cheeks, her wide hazel eyes frantic and trying to get a grasp on reality.
"Only some tests, dear." Dr. Strucker's voice was familiar in her ear. She would always recognize it because of its iciness and merciless tone. He spoke as if she were his own child, but Amie was terrified of him.
Were they taking her mind away like they did to the soldier's? Were they going to brainwash her too? Amelie was becoming more aware of herself, and noticed her left arm bandaged tightly. Her arm felt different, like there was something under the skin.
They implanted something in her.
"This is a new trial drug we are trying, little girl." Strucker smiled, "With our supply of Tesseract, we were able to implant a sample inside of you."
Amelie looked up like a deer caught in headlights. She yanked her arms free, unwrapping the bandages on her forearm to see what they had done to her. Strucker simply watched with an amused glance, wondering to see what Amelie would do. She wasn't much of a threat to them now.
Her forearm was stitched together, underneath the skin was a long shape of glowing blue. It protruded only slightly from her skin, and seemed to pulse with her heartbeat. Although she was drugged and couldn't feel the full extent of it, it hurt. A lot.
There was Tesseract inside of her.
"Over time, it will slowly release into your bloodstream. We believe this will have a stronger result on your abilities." Strucker motioned to the men behind her, "Begin activating it."
"No." Amelie shook her head, "Bitte! Please! Stop!"
However, a third party seemed keener on activating the Tesseract for her. A rough hand grabbed her forearm, squeezing the implant until Amelie felt it burst inside of her. She screamed, watching the glowing liquid slowly turn her veins the same color of blue.
Amelie glanced to see the owner of the arm, only to see shiny metal and a blood red star.

"Amie."The teen snapped herself awake with a gasp of air, immediately rolling up her sleeve to see the damage done to her forearm. However, she only found the faint white scar running down the side of her arm where the implant used to rest years ago.
"Amie."
She looked around quickly, and immediately sighed with relief.
"Steve!" She leaned back in the chair, "You're back!"
Steve's brows were furrowed with worry after having watched Amelie violently wake up from a nightmare. She's been having those a lot recently, but always seemed to avoid the subject with Steve.
"Don't forget about me, Amie." Natasha sassed from the other side of the room, "I'm back too."
"Hey, Nat." Amelie wiped the sleep from her eyes, "How was the mission?"
"Successful." She said, earning a look from Steve. Amie furrowed her brows, sensing some tension between the two.
"Why don't we go home, Amelie? It's late." Steve offered, "By what Fury tells me, you've had an... eventful day." He nodded to the IV pole with pursed lips.
