"Oh shit! Shit! Cap's going to kill me." Tony zipped and dodged falling debris, carrying an unconscious Amie in his arms. For the last few moments, she was in and out of whatever sleep she was in. However, when she was awake, she'd cry out in pain, her shirt and pant leg soaked in blood, her hands, arms, and chest covered in burns.
After being able to successfully dodge all of the debris, Tony quickly found the helicarrier in the distance.
He quickly rung up Fury, hoping he'd be the one to understand why Tony had asked Amie to do this.
"You better have a good ass reason as to why you told Amelie to risk her life for you, Stark." Fury sassed, "Because I have a very unhappy star-spangled man here who wants to throttle you."
"I have a very good reason." Tony said, "She saved the whole damn thing, Fury. She destroyed the core and blew the place to bits."
"I don't think Cap will buy that."
Tony sighed, "Listen, I have her. She's still alive, but it's not good. I'll need your best medical guys, Fury, and you'll need to get Helen Cho here ASAP."
"What should I tell Rogers?"
"I... I don't know. The news probably won't be good. Try and keep him from killing me while
I have his bleeding kid in my arms." Tony sighed."Listen, I'll be there in thirty seconds. Just have something ready for her there."
"Already in motion."
Tony zipped into the helicarrier, where on the main deck a gurney was already waiting for her.
Steve and the rest of the team ran out, watching in near horror as the billionaire landed with the girl in his arms, his suit covered in her blood.
"Alright everyone who isn't Rogers move out of the way!"
Amie went in and out of consciousness for the next week. She remembered landing on the helicarrier, hearing Tony yell at everyone to step back.
She remembered seeing Steve when he first saw her, running a hand down his face and going, "oh God."
She remembered hearing Steve yell at Tony before decking him in the face, Bucky having to pry Cap off of the billionaire.
She remembered hearing Dr. Cho's voice shout orders in Korean as she hooked up several devices to the girl.
Amelie remembered the prick on an IV, and then feeling such a relief from the pain she was previously feeling.
She remembered being moved from a cold, clean smelling room to the familiar dimmed lighting of Tony and Bruce's lab.
Then, at the end of the week she opened her eyes.
Amelie had a tube down her throat, which she was choking and sputtering on. Someone pulled it out of her throat for her, allowing her to breathe on her own.
She was laying in a hospital bed, bandages over her arms and chest. An IV drip filled with dark iron was on her left, next to it plain fluids.
Next to her bed was Steve, fast asleep in a chair that was way too small for him. Someone had covered him with a blanket, which barely fit over his broad shoulders.
On her other side, Bucky was sitting up, very much awake. His hair was pulled back into a bun, and in his metal hand he gripped a cup of coffee.
"Hey there, punk." He smiled, "How are you feeling?"
"Like I was hit by a zug. Alles ist wund." Her voice was hoarse from the tube, her throat dry as sandpaper.
Bucky handed her a cup of water, which she took with a shaky hand. After nearly downing the whole thing, she turned to Steve.
