"Sieben." Cold water was splashed in her face. Amie jolted awake, her arms bound down in a chair that felt too familiar to her.

Was she already back in Europe?

Blinking the sleep from her eyes, Amelie's head lolled to the side as her body slowly awakened and revealed to her just how worn down she still was. Her injured arm and shoulder throbbed intensely, her road burn stinging as the cold water that had soaked her face and part of her hair dripped onto the scrapes beneath her clothing. From what the teen could see, she was already hooked up to IV's and monitors.

In the corner was the Winter Soldier, strapped down just as she was, his arm being repaired by a few scientists. He looked lost in thought, sitting quietly with a dazed look in his eyes. Amie looked back to the owner of the voice, her brows narrowing into a glare.

Senator Alexander Pierce.

"Welcome back, Sieben." Pierce grinned, "Oh, don't give me that look. You should be thanking me- saving you from being killed. Steve and his little friends? I can't say the same for them."

Amelie paled, tears watering in her eyes as the mere thought crossed her mind. Sam was dead? Nat? Steve?

No. She wouldn't believe it.

If they were all dead, Amie truly was stuck at Hydra.

"It's okay for you to cry over them now. I'll allow it." Pierce shrugged, "Strucker has realized upon your escape that we haven't instilled enough fear and punishment in you to comply. That will change today."

"What are you going to do?" Amie asked, spitting the words out as she glared daggers at the wall. Her whole body trembled under the restraints, a steady pulse of electromagnetic energy keeping her in check.

"You know what we're going to do." Pierce said, "We've already done it to him."

He nodded to the Winter Soldier, who glanced up when he saw the Senator pointing to him. Amie locked eyes with the Soldier, hers pleading while his looked lost.

"The man on the bridge." He said, "Who was he?"

"You've met him on a prior mission." Pierce brushed off. However, Amie could see the curiosity in his eyes. She could practically feel him wanting to find out more.

"His name is Steve." She said quickly, "He was your best friend. Your name is Bucky."

"What did we learn about speaking out of turn?" Pierce snapped to Amelie.

"I knew him." Bucky nodded, "I did..."

"You don't know him." Pierce insisted, "He's just a nobody."

"They're lying to you." Amie spoke out again, even when they were already giving her a larger dose of the compliance serum, "They're taking away your memories."

"But I knew him." Bucky was adamant, looking up at Amie briefly as if she had the answers he needed. He looked lost, and the way his eyes locked with hers made her want to cry.

Pierce walked over to Bucky, backhanding him hard across the face. His head flew to the side, a brief wave of emotions setting over his face. Amie pulled on the restraints, her muscles aching from the compliance serum. Already could she feel a fever spiking and dizziness pull at her head.

"Reset him." Pierce instructed, "He needs to finish the mission."

"No." Amie's words were breathless and quiet. She was unable to do anything that could help Bucky- who for the first time looked as if he remembered something about his past life. He gave a pleading look to Amelie as the machine came over his temple, forehead, and cheekbone. A doctor gave him a mouth guard to keep him from biting off his tongue.
