Amie was positioned just down the hall from Dr. Cho's Lab, who was brainwashed, helping Ultron download his consciousness into his new body. With him were Wanda and Pietro, watching silently.
She was close enough to see the whole thing, but not close enough to be seen. All Amie had to do was disable the cradle and slow down Ultron... if she could short circuit him, he'd be distracted enough for the rest of the team to move in.
"You have eyes?" Nat asked, "It won't be long before he sees us coming."
"Ja." Amie said, "I can see it all. He has Dr. Cho under some spell..."
"The scepter." Clint sighed, "I thought that trend ended..."
"He's hooked up to the cradle." Amie said, "He's being downloaded into the body."
"Amie, that's your cue." Steve said.
Amelie's gaze turned purple, her eyes trained on the cradle. She could feel it's wires, it's schematics. Ultron was weaker when he was being downloaded into the body, like he was slowly being pulled into unconsciousness.
"I'll cover you if things get dicey." Bucky was on the floor above, positioned to cover her in case Amie was attacked.
"Thanks." Amie focused her attention on the cradle.
"He wants to destroy the world." Wanda's voice echoed in her ear, like she was speaking inside of her mind. Amie tensed up, her blood going cold.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Amelie. You were right. Ultron wants to destroy humanity. Like the dinosaurs. You should get out of here."
Wanda was pacing the floor of the lab, her glance meeting Amie's. Amelie nodded.
In her head, she spoke, "I'm going to disable the cradle. Get clear of here."
Amelie resumed, her stare glowing a deep purple as she focused her energy on the cradle, on Ultron. The glass of the cradle cracked, the computers fuzzing in and out of their programs. The wires connecting Ultron to the cradle were severed, their ends sparking and hissing with electricity.
"We need to move." Ultron yelled, "We have company."
Amie pushed herself further, getting out from her hiding spot, both arms outstretched. The cradle shook, pieces falling off the sides. Dr. Cho's computer screens cracked, the monitor smoking.
"That is not a problem." Dr. Cho said, just after Wanda sent a red orb to release the hold the scepter had on the scientist's mind. The woman paused Ultron's upload to the body.
"Oh dear..." the robot sighed, shooting Dr. Cho with a sigh. Amie jumped, her eyes wide. However, she couldn't stop. The robots around Ultron were short circuiting, twitching and sparking, stray pieces falling off of them.
Pietro quickly grabbed Wanda, zipping out of harm's way.
"Leave, he'll kill you!" Wanda said in Amie's mind, giving the girl a worried look as they sped past.
"Amelie, I know you're hiding around here somewhere." Ultron called, "Come out, and maybe I might not kill you."
Her eyes were a dark purple, a trail of blood coming out from one of her nostrils. She was angry, and scared. Amelie took a step out, giving herself a clearer view of Ultron.
However, that did compromise her position.
She yelled out, a burst of energy coming out from her fingertips. Ultron's whole body shuddered, and he clutched his head as if she was hurting him- like he could feel pain.
