"I'm the Elder? How would that be possible? Wouldn't I get my memory back or something? Because I still have no idea what you're talking about, and quiet frankly, I don't know if i want to be apart of this. I'm just a normal girl, who is starting senior year of high school in a couple days. This is all so confusing and you're not really helping with all these cryptic answers that you're giving me." I almost slap my hand over my mouth. I really need to stop talking and try to process this, but my mind is running in a hundred different directions.

"Now Cassandra, I don't expect you to trust me, or trust anything that I'm saying, but there's no denying that you're the Elder. No one else would be able to free me from the crystal ball. But you are no where near ordinary, I mean, look at yourself. You're incredibly beautiful." My cheeks burn hot and I can tell that I'm blushing. He's quite forward.

" Anyone who has the ability to time jump is incredibly powerful, and by that, I mean time jumping with another person. You may not know how to jump by yourself yet, but if you were able to trail along with another jumper, and not to be torn apart, you have the ability somewhere inside you. But for reason that you don't have any memories returning to you does worry and confuse me. You should have known me the second that my ball shattered." He gives me an odd look. "You don't have any idea who I am?"

"I have no idea who you are, and you don't even look like the same person that came out of the ball." His face softens and turns into a grin.

"Well duh, I love to play the part completely when I jump." He smiles and the facade of his Egyptian god-like appearance fades away and before me is sitting the awkward looking teenage boy that I had met less than an hour ago. He's wearing a dark grey zip-up hoodie and dark blue skinny jeans. He has a smirk on his face, and he's waiting for my reaction, but I don't know how to react. I sit there completely frozen, staring at his deep blue eyes, and a ball starts to form in my throat.

Why me? I'm such a normal, mundane person. I'm not special. I've never been special. I don't want to be different. But this whole situation just makes me think that I've hit my head extremely hard and I'm now living in a fantasy novel. I'm so painfully confused and I just want to curl into a ball and cry. I mean, that's never a good way to solve anything but it sure would make me feel better for a short amount of time. My hands grip tightly onto the arm of my chair and my knuckles turn to white. My breaths become shallow and my vision starts to blur. I gasp for breath, but my lungs cease to work and I feel myself start to fall sideways out of my chair.

"Cassie! No! You must not jump!" I tilt my head, confused. Jump? Jump where? I'm sitting in a chair. Sam lurches out of his chair and flies over the table and his arms wrap around me as I tilt my head back and scream. Tiny shimmering gold particles fly around us and we start to disappear. Sam's mouth moves close to my ear. "Don't let go of me, think of a safe place that you want to go, and we'll be okay." I stop screaming and begin to pull myself back together. The landscape appears before Sam and I fully take form. We're back in the attic. Sam's arms tighten around me, and my body starts to become whole again. We stand there together for a few seconds before I forcefully push him away. I hold my arms out in front of me and I square myself for an attack. Sam puts up his hands to caution me. He genuinely looks scared.

"Cassandra, be careful. You're feeling everything to a higher degree right now, you don't have control of yourself. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. But if you don't calm down, we're not going to be able to fully call your body back. I tilt my head in confusion and look down at my hands. They're glowing and my body is flickering in and out of visibility. I sink to my knees and hold out my hands, or what is left of them.

"What have you done to me?" The world tilts and this time my head rolls and I fall onto to the wood floor of the attic, and my head cracks loudly before I lose all consciousness.

Visions fly by me, none of them making sense.

My mother holding me as a baby, crying over my glowing gold body,

A man holding onto a two-year-old child being struck by lightning,

The screams of people running away from a ball of light crash-landed in the middle of a city street.

All at once, everything stops.

"Cassandra? Are you awake?" My mother's voice snaps me out of the latest vision, and I can feel myself start to regain consciousness. A warm hand touches my face and my eyes groggily open. I turn my head and I see Sam and my mother looking at me, concerned.

"Cassie, hunny. Come back to us." My mom finds my hand and takes it into her extremely cold one. I feel the room around me. I move my feet and hands and feel the sheets under me. We're in my room. I Slowly start to sit up and Sam reaches for me. I curl away from his touch. I don't know why he keeps trying to touch me all the time. It's creepy.

"Don't come near me." He pulls his hands back awkwardly and my mom moves her hands behind my back and helps me to sit up. She props some pillows behind me and she puts her hand to my forehead, and I shrink away. "You're hands are so cold."

"Sorry. I can't really help it." She looks to Sam and a complicated look passes between them. I look at both their faces and I feel enraged.

"You two are hiding something and you better start explaining to me now. I'm done being confused. What just happened to me?" My mom sighs quietly.

"I didn't want it to happen this soon." She sighs in defeat.

"What to happen?" I look down at my hands again, and I'm no longer flickering, but I am still glowing with a faint gold hue. " Also, why do I feel okay again? How could I ever heal from losing parts of my body like that?"

"Cassandra-" Sam begins but I put my hand up and stop him.

"First of all, stop calling me Cassandra, I hate that. Second, you don't get to talk, you're the reason why I'm in this mess."

"No Cassie dear, he isn't. It's all my fault, and you need to listen to both of us if you want to know what is happening." I openly gawk at her. Now nothing is making sense. Sam moves from kneeling on the ground and sits on the end of my bed, looking at me hesitantly. I glare at him and his eyes drop to his lap. "Sam you need to listen closely also, because everything you think you know isn't true anymore. Everything has changed and it's all my fault." Sam's face falls to confusion.

"Who are you?" Sam looks intently at my mother.

"Gertona Vasilissa." My mother spits out the words like they hurt and Sam's mouth hangs open in shock.

"You're the Elder queen? How is that possible?" I look back and forth between them and I throw my hands up in frustration. I thought I was the "Elder Queen".

"You two are making no sense, and I really think someone owes me a damn explanation!" Sam's face turns to the ground and he stares down in complete shock.

"Cassandra, everything you know is about to change, and without you, we're all as good as dead. My one question is, are you ready for your life to become something more? Are you ready to become the savior of the world?"
