Mara

You would think that a family reunion would be a happy occasion, but the only time the extended family is called together for us, we're usually fighting to save the world or something else drastic. The first to arrive are Selene and Seraph. The Goddess of the moon and the God of the Sun. Selene is entrancing to look at. The way her dark hair flows and shines is almost otherworldly, surrounding her in a inky glow that one would associate with a dark night. Her skin is dark light the night sky, almost looking like it's shining with the glow of the oon. Seraph is a fiery enigma . He moves with the fluidity of a burning fire, the room even feels warmer just with his mere presence. His  hair has sparks of fire jumping from strand to strand. They both wear long flowing robes, matching the colors of their auras. The both walk so smoothly they look as if they are flowing. Selene pays little attention when she sees me, but Seraph gives me a small wave, and a smile. They are closest in age to Lissa and Rex, give or take some years. Back then there wasn't really a way to keep track of years. Many of the oldest children easily have millions of years on me.

Sam is waiting by the door for more of his children to arrive. He probably hasn't seen many of them in a very long time. He has a clipboard holding a list of where each person will be staying. Katherine and Kai should be joining be soon to help direct people, and to answer any questions they might have. But most importantly, to keep the peace between any that might not get along.

The next to arrive are Nesrin, Antheia, and a few of their children. Nesrin is the goddess of flowers, and her wife Antheia is the goddess of gardens. The room fills with an earthy smell, an overwhelming attack of dirt and flowers. They are all barefoot, and were flowing pants and shirts. Hippies would be an accurate description, with their long flowing hair and earthy toned fashion sense. Nesrin and Antheia walk hand in hand, full of smiles. Sam hugs them tightly, wrapping his arms around both of them. The children wait behind them, looking around the hall nervously. They have probably grown up in a much smaller house surrounded by expansive gardens. Being in a mansion like this one can be quite a shock. Sam points to the hall to my left, meaning that they will be staying in the same wing as Cassie and I. My feet tap the ground anxiously as I wonder how Cassie is doing, and if Alastair has had the chance to check in on her yet. If not, he is probably watching what is going on right now, and laughing at the tension and overall sense overall uncomfortable  feelings in the room. When Meliona, Sage and Devika walk in the front door, my focus turns to them. Meliona  is the goddess of ghosts, and seeing her is typically a shocking sight. He skin has a transparent look to it, and if you look at her long enough, she looks like she flickers in and out of existence. I shiver involuntarily at the sight of her, and feel a subtle chill coming from her. Thankfully Sam motions for her to go down the hall towards Lissa's room, instead of mine. Sage is the prophet, and honestly I did not expect her to come. Although she has a power to know what will happen, she has no idea who will be the one doing it. Her daughter, who is probably not coming, is an Oracle, and spends much of her time in places like New Orleans, where she can pretend to be a witch or whatever suits her. Devika is a sight to see. She is the protector of Light. Like Selene, her skin has a glowing ability, and she lights up the room.

The next person to walk in is quite a shock to everyone else. Dhara, the protector of the Earth, comes through the front door. Her hands are folded delicately in front of her. She is clothed in black leggings and a tie-dyed sweatshirt, and something like outdoor slippers on her feet. She breaks her stony expression to give Sam a small smile. He knits his brows, but smiles back at her. No one has really seen her since she turned down Alastair's wedding request. I pull my phone out of my pocket, summoning Alastair. His image pops up on my screen, a knowing look on his face.

"I am surprised too Mara, but you must not alert her of my presence yet. I will speak to her later." I nod.

"I do have a question though before you go." He motions for me to speak. I lower my voice to a whisper. "Have you talked to Cassie yet? She's kind of a mess at the moment." She sighs.
