As I finally gain the strength to pull myself away from Sam, I realize how truly breathless I am. I suck deep breaths in and look into his eyes. He's literally oozing loving feelings right now. His thoughts are on a constant loop of the kiss we just shared. I blush at some of the thoughts that intrude into his mind, before he quickly shuts them down. He smiles at me shyly, and I can't help but let the little ball of love in my chest swell. A golden hue rises up under my skin, and I start glowing.
"Well that's an interesting side effect." I turn my hands over, and look into my palms, where the brightest light is coming from. I close them into fists and focus on absorbing the light back inside. I feel a slight pulling on my inside and the glow begins to fade.
"Granted it's a very beautiful side affect. You're incredible Cass, truly." Sam grabs my hands, and some of the remaining glow transfers to him. I sigh. We can't stay stuck in this moment forever. We have work to do, and I still have some questions answered. Sam pulls his hands back, understanding my unwillingness, but also understanding that I'm right. I move my legs around and stand up from the couch.
"I'll go get my mom and some snacks. We've still got some talking to do." He grabs my hand and kisses it before releasing me and sinking back into the couch. I smile and turn away. As I'm walking out, I feel the blush rising to my cheeks quickly. He is such a gentleman. I still have no idea who he is, but I definitely would like to know more. I wish I had my own memories. They might make everything much more easy. I walk down the hallway a couple more steps before I stop and laugh to myself. I'm walking around the house looking for my mother, but I have no idea where I'm looking. I don't know where she went. Sam's laugh echoes mine in my head. 'Check the kitchen silly, that's where she always seems to be.'. I turn around and walk back through the halls to the kitchen.  Just as Sam said, I walk into the kitchen and find my mother leaning against the counter, a towel in her hand as she's making her way through a pile of wet dishes.
"You two are finally done? It took you long enough." My face heats up and I look at the ground. Nice, she's already at the teasing stage. I gather my thoughts and look up from the floor.
"Let's get some snacks and return to talking, I still have so many questions." My mom nods and sets down the towel.
"What kind of snacks were you thinking?" I think for a second, and Sam's voice just about screams in my head, 'GET TWINKIES.' I flinch from the volume, but instantly burst out laughing.
"Sam says Twinkies." She turns around and opens the cupboards, and freezes.
"Did you say 'Sam said'?" She turns to me, a scary look on her face.
"Um, yes? Am I missing something?" The scared look fades from her face, but it's still in her eyes.
"No, you're absolutely fine, it's Sam that didn't tell you everything apparently." I knit my brows in confusion.
"Mom I'm not following you." She shakes her head. She looks into me eyes and narrows hers.
"Sam, I know you can hear me, come here. Now." She says in a voice sterner than she ever has used with me. I can feel Sam's presence in my mind shrinking away from me. I grab my mothers hand, and I close my eyes. Suddenly were standing right in front of Sam, who had just gotten up off of the couch. He takes one look at us and instantly sits right back down on the couch, his eyes a little wide. My mom rips her hand out of mine and gives me a look of pure astonishment.
"Cassie, how did you just do that?" I look down at my hands, glowing a dim gold color again.
"Let's just say I taught myself with a little help." I narrow my eyes at Sam. "What exactly have you done? What didn't you tell me?" He looks down at his hands in shame. My mom looks at him, studying. She recoils.
"Sam, please tell me you didn't do what I think you did." He nods his head. My mom gasps and moves over to sit in front of him on the coffee table.
"Sam, that spell puts you in so much danger, my dear. I know you care for her, but you know how foolish it is to do this to yourself." I walk over to them and stand there with my hands on my hips.
"You two better start talking. You just created many more questions than I already had." Sam sighs and reaches for my hand. I keep in firmly on my hip and shake my head. I turn around and pull a chair up beside the couch, so I can look at the to of them. I sit and then look to Sam. "Explain." He sighs again.
"A soul and mind connector spell. I know I only had permission for the memory sharing spell, but I just wanted to speed things up. I did it only looking out for you. I can help you, like showing you how to jump like you just did and making the slippers appear next to your bed. You can save the teaching and just instantly learn from me." I shake my head.
"I understand why you did it. But that still doesn't explain why you were about to have a stroke when you found out." I gesture towards my mother.
"Cassie, darling. A connector spell like what Sam did is fragile in once sense. Once you gain your memories back, the link will become solidified, but it is not yet stable." I nod.
"Okay, that's easy enough. All I have to do is get my memories back to stabilize the bond. All I have to do to get my memories back is to truly believe in everything that you're telling me." It sounds easy enough. I'm already starting to believe everything they tell me. There's simply no other explanation for this. My mom sighs.
"There are two problems with what you just said. First, you forgot a small part of that spell on the paper. You not only have to believe us, but you also have to love Sam as you did before the spell was cast. Second, If you ever lose your memories again, and Sam is still linked with you, it could either take his memories too, making it near impossible to raise you from the dead again, or it could kill him." Sam puts his hands up, stopping my mother from talking.
"Vasilissa, enough. I know what I did, and I'm not afraid of what could happen. I truly believe that she is strong enough to beat the evil this time. She is showing exceptional signs of improvement from her last life. With our teaching and support, she can learn much faster, and maybe we could stay together for longer than a year this time." My mother shakes her head.
"You're right, but I don't want you to be. You could get hurt all too easy with this spell on her." She pauses for a second, a sour look coming to her face. "Tell me you didn't enact the body connection spell too."
"Well, I'm not completely stupid Vasilissa. Give me some credit." A small grin creeps onto Sam's face, and I find myself starting to smile too. My mother looks between us a couple of times and she rests her hand against her forehead.
"You're right that it's working fast. She's able to feel your emotions, and your auras are almost identical. Maybe we can do this." A small smile appears on her face.
"I know we can do this Vasilisa. I believe in her. I believe in my love for her completely." Something inside me melts. No one has ever loved me like this before. I can see something in the future. A life with Sam. It will be beautiful.
"Well, whatever this evil is that is coming for us, with you two behind me, I feel like I'll be able to do anything. My boyfriend from my past life and my mother." My mom grits her teeth and I can tell there's something she's not telling me again. I give her a level look. "Whatever it is that you are hiding, you might as well tell me. There's not really anything you could say that would catch me off-guard right now. " She laughs nervously.

                              And boy was I wrong.

"I'm not your mother Cassie. Actually, you're my mother."
